good, bad, happy or sad, what's the most emotional moment in sports that you've witnessed? (it doesn't matter if you were there or if you saw it on tv or if you saw it on sportscenter, just as long as you've seen it)

it's such a difficult question, but i don't think i'll ever forget when tiger woods won his first tournament after his father died and he put his head onto his caddy's shoulder and let the tears flow. that ranks right up there with when he made the chip shot in the 2005 masters and the ball stood still for a split second before it rolled in.

one of the most emotional games i've seen was the CU-CSU game in 2004, for several reasons. it was the first game i attended as a student. colorado was down big in the second half but took the lead on a pick-6, and the student section turned into a mosh pit. i think i ended up about 3 rows down and like 20 feet to the left of where i was before that play. colorado state got the lead back. mason crosby kicked like a 55 yard field goal to take the lead again for colorado, which everyone though sealed it, but colorado state marched down the field and had the ball on the 1 with like 20 seconds left, and we thought we were done. but csu tailback marcus houston, who transfered from colorado, got stuffed on the one not once, but twice, including as time ran out.

Its a tie between Joe Carter's walk off home run to win the 93 world series ("touch 'em all joe" is the best line from any sportscast ever) and Canada winning the 02 olympic gold in hockey.

Tiger winning the tournament after his father died

Favre playing that monday night after his father died, 400+ yards and 3 Td's... That was emotional...

02/03 National Championship: When Willis Mc. got his knee blasted and broken. OMG! When they played it in slow mo..never felt more horrible seeing such a thing in my life.

Happiest:1994 when the Rangers won the Stanely Cup.96 New York Yankees winning the World Series.
Saddest:Yankees losing the 2001 World Series to the Diamondback.  That would've been good for the city.
Horrifying:I know Pro Wrestling isn't a sport, but when Sid Vicious did a kick from the Top Rope and broke his leg.  YIKES!

I agree.

I also think that the 1980 USA VS Soviet Union "Miracle on Ice" game was awesome. Even though I wasn't alive yet.

when cal ripken broke lou gehrig's streak. i was lucky enough to actually be at the game. I was only a young teenager at the time, but living in Maryland and growing up playing baseball, Cal Ripken was like a god in the MD/DC/VA area. It was something i will never forget. I still have the tickets in a screw down case and will have them til the day i die

2006 - Jarvis Mossblocks Ryan Succops field goal to win the game. (this isn't my video, I wasn't sitting in this section, and the video is really poor, but listen to the sound.... about 20 seconds in is the block.) I held hands, prayed with, and hugged people I didn't know... it was, bar none, the most emotionally exhausting experience of my life.

todd100

God yes. That was fricken amazing. After all these years of being a huge Tiger's fan and never seeing them get to a World Series, they finally did it. The celebration right after the game and how they brought the fans into it was awesome too. The fans deserved it.

But for my personal experiance, I would have to say my high school soccer team (that I was on) when we played our biggest rival. We just had a dissapointing loss versus our other rival, and were out to seek revenge. At the end of a dissapointing first half we were down 0-1. We come out and give 110% during the second half, winning every 50-50 ball and laying people out on tackles. Only 10 minutes left in the game and we put one in (I was playing center mid at the time). Now a heavy down pour starts (as every sports player knows, games are 100x more fun in the rain). Then with about 10 seconds left to go, we get a cross off and my teamate volleyed it upper 90. Best feeling I ever got from sports.

Game one against the Kincks at Madison Square Garden in the '95 playoffs. Reggie Miller of the Pacers scored 8 points in 8.9 seconds to finish the game and pull outthe victory. Miller is my favorite ball player and probably always will be. "Make way for the bad guy".
