What will be your reaction?

1. Barry Bonds*
2. Hank Aaron

He needs only 22 home runs this season to become the most prolific home run hitter in MLB history. Personally, I feel that it will be a sad, sad day for baseball. I hope that the comissioner and baseball choose the most minimal way of recognizing it as possible.

To have his name amongst the ranks of Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth is sickening.

I just want to see how MLB is going to react. They already hate the guy so much, and having to celebrate on his account.... Personally I'd like to see him break the record since I'm a Giants fan, but in truth, I don't really care that much. I just want to win a WS finally, and hopefully sometime during this decade too.

I'm not even a baseball fan, so I'm pretty indifferent on Bonds. He could have taken something could not have, seems that we'll never find out for sure, everyone is just left with their opinions and circumstancial "evidence". The book on the whole thing must not be enough proof cuz Bonds is still playing baseball. The real "sad sad" thing about it all is that we may never hear the end of it no matter what happens...

said day. i dont usually like to say this but i do hope that bonds either gets hurt or something and retires. i dont want to see him either be one shy of it and this retire out of the blue or tie it and retire. i dont even want to see him pass it.

I think he deserves the same recognition anyone from this era would get, regardless of anyone's perception of them personally. Doping is endemic in baseball, and it has been -- in some form or another -- since long before Bonds was in the big leagues. If you don't like him personally, big deal...he's hit 700+ homeruns against pitchers who are just as juiced as he is so there's no telling what he would have done or not done if MLB had given a damn about steroids/meth/testosterone/growth hormone/who-knows-what. Get over it, dude...or live with a lot of sad days.

I wouldn't mind if the Padres don't pitch to him at all during the whole season.

A lot of baseball fans only cry foul over Bonds because they wish they had a player of his caliber on their favorite team. I'm pretty sure at least 75 % of fans that hate on Bonds because of this reason alone and usually throw out the steroids allegations because that's the only thing they have on him, allegations. They can add as many asterisks as they want next to Bonds records but with no proof, it'll just seem like a joke. Even HOF players like Roger Clemens is thought to have used performance enhancing drugs but nobody goes after him because he's simply likeable. Until they can prove that Bonds was juiced, I don't see how they can even add an asterisk next to his name.

I won't be disappointed, but I definitely won't be excited either.

all the pitchers in the MLB should get together and agree to walk bonds every at-bat during the season, no matter the situation.

We won't stay healthy long enough to break it. I predict he'll only play in 50 games this season.

Best case scenerio Bonds gets Hit in the Head by a randy johnson fastball and is paralyzied for life.  Even better if he has 21 HR's in the year!
