Personally i think Chris Paul is more deserving but that last head to head loss against the Lakers, along w/ the hornets losing the number one seed to the lakers, i think Kobe will win. If N.O. would have finished first paul would have won
I think this is one time when Kobe actually deserves it. After everything that happen in the preseason he was finally able to become a good teammate and leader.
I put Dwight Howard because he is one of the main reasons the Magic are number 3 in the east. Even though the East is not that tough the first 3 spots are usaully hard to get. Lebron is good don't get me wrong but he isn't able to carry the team like he did last year.

I was thinking the same exact thing! I went with Kobe too because he's a stud and deserves it. The guy is amazing and really has been playing like a real leader/MVP.
I think it will be Kobe just because he has learned what MJ had to learn during his first championship run. You can only carry your team so far. You have to trust your teammates. It also helps that he actually has some players he can depend on now too.

I'm actually a Lakers fan. I couldn't think of another person to put up and didn't think that Lebron was worthy of it this year. I don't think KG is the MVP b/c of the games he has missed and he is playing with 2 other great players.
Chris Paul deserves it the most, but Kobe will get it as some kind of lifetime achievement award. If Lakers management didn't make the moves they did, we'd still be talking about how he's a ball hog and a bad teammate. Paul stepped up his game and carried a bad organization to championship contention.

You really arent going to understand it unless you have watched him all year long. Why isnt kobe losing points for havign Odum and Gasol (and Bynum when he wasnt injured). KG came here and turned the Celtics into a beastly defencive team (Pierce became an amazing defencive player with his arival) and an offencive machine. His intensity he bring is something you cant put numbers on.. he demands every player plays their hardest and trust me they do. Kobe will win but I think KG really should win it. Sad that the team continued to work hard when he was absent (which probably was because they knew KG was in the locker roomw atching).
I don't really think you can count Odom. He is a role player and not an all star. Gasol is a big reason why they are number one but he hasn't been in a quarter of their games. Bynum was there in the beginning. If you have seen how Kobe interacts with the players now it is almost like he is a second coach. Everyone believes in themselves now.

Yes, but Kobe is only being nice because they are winning. Your "MVP" was talkign trash about the team prior to the start of the season (and during the very begining). I wouldnt be proud to call him the MVP when he was openly trashing the organization he is playing for.

Can you blame him? Is he really doing anything different from what Shaq did when he was there? The only difference is that Shaq got the trade and Kobe didn't. The Lakers organization did what Kobe wanted them too. Get players to make a championship run. That is one of the reasons he was dissatisfied.

I dont remember him publicly talking to the media asking for trades. Privatly asking for a trade is a bit different then talking to the media and bashing your organization.
If you ask me, Steven A. Smith egged Kobe on to ask for a trade. That is how I percieved it. Asking privately wouldn't have gotten out to the media though.

Actually Shaq is a very smart person. You can tell by how he is able to manipulate the media. Kobe is also smart but a smart person can be manipulated when emotion is factored in. I think it should be Kobe hands down. CP3 had an amazing season, and he is definitely worthy, but Kobe is flat out amzing and led his team to 1st in the West. Kobe has been robbed of the MVP too many times imo. Steve Nash winning it was a joke. This year I don't think there is an argument someone could make to not give it to him other than CP3. He has done everything right this season and has turned into a great team player as well. Many people hate to hear this, but Kobe is definitely on Jordan's level playwise. He doesn't have all the rings, but if he did, don't you think people would and should consider him to possibly be the greatest ever? He even has a better shot than MJ. I think NBA fans take for granted the greatness that is Kobe Bryant because no one wants to replace Jordan in their minds.

Pierce never came out and asked to be traded, he's never quit on the team even when things were bad and he felt like his best years were passing by. There was a time when Ainge almost traded him but didn't, alongside a first rounder for the #3 pick in the '05 draft. Ainge has said afterwards he would have taken Chris Paul if he pulled the trigger. But none of that was orchestrated by Pierce. it's true he probably would be gone if we had won a top 2 pick but that's all ancient history now.
Kobe will win the award, partly because he's had a great season but mostly because he's due. Chris Paul is equally deserving and I'd love to see him get it but his age is going to work against him, much like it did for LeBron over the past few years.
