[QUOTE="cgoltsis"]I'm with scoopy. No one should doubt the East. There is going to be a sleeper of a team winning this year. SilverArmor82Based on what? Wishful thinking? The East is terrible.......
Everyone doubted an Eastern team would win the last two times it happened (Miami last year, and Detroit two years (and almost one year before as well) before that)... and Pistons have a weak bench? They had a moderate one last year and went deep (and didn't finish because Flip didn't realize then that this team knows how to run the race, Flip is a regular season guy, and he's changed now)... they've addressed their bench problems well... you CLEARLY have not been watching (their bench develop) and are one of those copy and paste espn readers... espn publishes well thought out opinions, but not all of them are right... and besides that, I haven't seen any experts bangin their bench lately anyway, which leads me to believe the Pistons BENCH haters are a few years too late (probably the real case here)... actually WATCH their games before you talk crap(their bench production is near the level it was when they won it all a few years back fellas), I've seen almost every team play this year at least once, if not twice (very few exceptions), and I don't just steal old arguments from the past... do more than copy and paste arguments people...
whoops, almost forgot, they're on tnt tonight folks, at home, playing the Lakers at 8. Watch them, they already beat the Lakers in LA earlier this year on like, the second or third game of the season (when they were performing with less motivation and didn't have some of the players they have now (cough *revitalized, happy c webb, very underrated when in happy situations vets. are* long cough))... they might end up sweeping the series with the Lakes this year, AND Odom is back, so that can't be an excuse (which would be if they lost, and he was there when they played them earlier this year too in LA).

Umm, so did anyone watch the Pistons beat the crap outta the Lakers to sweep the season series? Yeah, that's what I thought punks. Loser Mike, you obviously don't watch the Pistons, and you woulda been treated to a clinic tonight if you'da watched like I did. You don't know about good benches. Check the stats, like I said, they're near the production they had when they won it all, numbers don't lie, and heck, numbers can't even describe (well, they kinda can ;)) how much better Webber is playing now that he's happy. Congratulations on being wrong to the fella who thought the Lakes would own it up tonight too ;) See yall in the finals yo!ScoopyMcScoop
LoserMike obviously I am a Pistons fan so I am biased, but the Mavs have 5 double digit scorers as do the Pistons and their team average of 100.3 PPG is only 3 higher than the Pistons. With Webber here I look for an increase in those offensive numbers.
Since Webber got here, out players have been playing with an intensity not seen for a long time. There is no doubt in my mind that we will come out of the East and if you think whoever comes out of the West ( Suns or Mavs) are just going to roll over us, I think we are going to surprise a hell of a lot of people like in 04.shooks20
Trust me dude take this from a Spurs fan....You will miss Big Ben come playoffs, Nazi will flop.

One of the Mavs double-digit scorers comes off the bench. When the Pistons won the championship in '04 and competed in the finals in '05 their 5th best scorer came off the bench. Ben Wallace was started just for his defense, just like how the Mavs start Dampier or Diop just for their defense (though they're no where near the level of Ben's defense, they cover Dirk's defensive liabilities). Basically the '04 and '05 Pistons had a better balance between the starters and the bench. This year's Pistons there's a huge disparity between the starters and the bench, that it worries me that the starters have to play alot of minutes and Webber ain't getting any younger. That's why everybody keeps saying the Suns won't go to the Finals because Nash is wearing out by playing so much during the regular season. Unless somehow the Suns get Tony Parker, Chris Paul, or Jason Kidd to backup Nash, I see their offense stalling during the playoffs.
Also, I don't see a West team rolling over an East Team in the finals. A team with a great explosive scorer like the Wizards (Arenas) or the HEAT (Wade) can completely surprise a Western Conference team.
