I think he has just as good of a chance maybe even better than anyone else at being an NFL QB.

My reasons:

You say he can't snap the ball very well under center. Thats fine don't have him do that then. Just have in the shotgun all the time. It doesn't really make that much difference and you can pretty much do all the plays in shotgun as you can in other formations as it is anyway. So whats the big deal?

When he is in the pocket trying to throw the ball defenders will have a hard time bringing him down. Tebow is 250 pounds of muscle. Also, this makes it harder for him to fumble the ball and he is probably less likely to be injured. Also, if the defense blitzs with the corner backs it most likely won't do much good as far as sacking him becuz he has around 50 pounds more weight on him than most of those guys and could easily just stiff arm them.

Also, Tebow may be able to scramble a little bit from time to time. He has decent speed for a QB. Also, with Tebow on the team you can have him run the ball all the time instead of using a full back. Practically the same thing. I'm not saying he would get ride of a half back though. Tebow doesn't have that much speed but he could easily run the ball instead of a full back. He could pose as a better blocker than most QBs out there.

I don't see why he wouldn't be a good pick. I can't understand why taking a snap from center is a must when the shotgun works just as well. If anything the shotgun just puts in place instead of having to take a few steps back.

Someone mentioned Jamarcus Russel having a clinic at the senior bowl but he ain't doing **** in Oakland. Just becuz you can impress NFL scouts doesn't mean your gonna be the best pick. By the way isn't Jimmy Clausen going pro? I would really take a look at him. Its not easy throwing 28 TD's and only having 4 interceptions for a team that suxs.

That proves my point. Russell is a god aweful QB, but he is functional. Tebow isn't even functional.

Taking snaps in the shotgun on every play doesn't work in the NFL unless you have a great pass blocking o-line and a strong armed, accurate QB. Tebow is niether. You also can't run the ball consistently out of the shotgun, as NFL defenses are too fast for running backs to consistently make defenders miss in the open field. And Tebow may be big, but he is slower than you think(4.7 is generous), and he has never had to consistently face NFL caliber linebackers: going against Rolando McClain 1 time doesn't count.

Tebow is a "want to", not a "can do".

Jimmy Clausen is going pro: decent arm and size, high football IQ, zero leadership and not a winner. Bust alert.

Tebow would need an entire offense designed to fit his play style, that wont happen. And Im not even talking about how he may never be able to adapt himself to the NFL speed. Also, his throwng mechanic is going to make pass rushers in the league get career games in forced fumbles.

In other words, he would be a great CFL player lol
