Man, game 4 was heartbreaking for the Lakers and fans... losing 24-point deficit. And in game 5, Lakers were leading by 16, I think, and the Celtics almost made a comeback. Yes, Lakers play great offense, but they need to play great Dedense also. There D, isnt as good as Boston.

Lakers are dominant offensively, but defense wins games.

All they have to do is play a hustling defense, enough to suffocate even the crowd. Even if they miss, they will still slowly take the lead.

It's the NBA, plain and simple. Anything can happen. These guys are so good that a 24 point lead is nothing.

Yeah, Lakers blowing the lead was kind of embarrasing, especially since it happened on their home court. But it's the NBA, so although a heartbreaking game 4 loss, it really shouldn't be a surprise.

Now if it was the Grizzlies or the Heat coming back to win after being down 24 points than that would be a shock! LOL! But it was the Celtics, so no surprises.

They need to play defense against the pick-and-roll. Celtics were making plays with Pierce and Garnett on a high pick-and-roll, and they couldn't stop it. Lakers also tend to stagnate on offense once they get a huge lead, and once their offense slows down, they stop playing defense.

Not the qualities you expect on a "Championship Team".

More than enough reason for the Celtics to take the crown.

According to most sports analysts the Lakers don't play championship defense, every game I seen the Lakers win, was the Celtics beat themselves. the Lakers seem to start out hot and then fizzle out by halftime, Zenmaster Phil needs to figure out a way to utilize the bench a little bit more effectively like how Doc Rivers is using his. The Lakers are just getting out physicaled out there, I think the Pistons would give them problems, and the Cavs would have been even more of a nightmare because Lebron has the speed of a wide reciever with alot of power in his 6'8" 260+ pound frame. I'm sure the Celtics gonna wrap this up tomorrow though, the Lakers are not as good on the road and that will be their downfall in game 6.

The only teams that ever played good D were the 89'-90' Pistons and the 03'-04' Pistons. The NBA is basically a no defense league....look at how they play D. THey stand like 5 feet away. You never see anyone up in someone's grill. And you never see someone put on a full court press. All NBA teams play lame D.

It's because any little touch these days = foul. I have seen fouls were the defender didn't even touch the player..

well it was the first Q. If this was in the second half and they would of blown it (almost like what the celtics did in game2 in the 4thQ) then that would of been something.

Hmm, you don't include any of the Bulls' teams of the 90's? 91'-92' or 95'-'96 Bulls?

"up in someone's grill"? Full court press? This isn't college ball. There's not a ball-handler in the league that wouldn't just burn by defenders who try that.

What about the 85-86 Celtics, TD's Spurs, or the 90's Knicks? Everyone thinks they played incredible defense.

Then again, what can you expect from a "DEEEEEETROOOOOIT BASKETBALLLLL!" fan?

No D, No O :? They stop being aggressive, taking it to the basket, also by not playing D they can't get out in transition and make plays.
