It just occurred to me...we may never "witness" a LeBron VS Kobe NBA Finals. The thing is, it can still happen but with Kobe getting older, will it have the same impact or significance?

It can happen, but the hiring of Mike Brown has really soured my expectations for next season. The Lakers may win a lot of games, may get a high seed, but we count parades here, not regular season wins, and I'll be so pissed if we get into the postseason next year and the opposing coach runs circles around Brown, just like in Cleveland.

But I do think the chances of it happening are pretty low. The best would have been two years ago, especially considering the Lakers probably would have demolished the Cavs that year.

That match-up was ruined years ago by Nike and their MVPuppets.

It would just be their names alone that would be hyped. Lebron is in his prime, and Kobe is in his older days. The individual physical matchupobviously advantage Lebron, but Wade would prolly see more Kobe anyway. How the teams would matchup is a whole other matter, however.

seems unlikely now, and if it did I feel it would not have as much significance in regards to Kobe vs Lebron. In the past when Lebron was with the cavs then yes it would have been a huge series to market.

However when Lebron joined the Heat it took a new significane, in Kobe vs the big three. To me Kobe was particularly bitter this year becasue he really wanted to play the Heat. If he could have beat those three the Jordan vs Kobe debate becomes very close.

Kobe may still make the finals again, but he probably won't be the number 1 player on his team when that happens.

the 2001 lakers versus the 2010 miami heat would have been awesome.
