The Pistons Spurs series in 2005 was actually a good series.... 2007 is the last one that was a really horrible series. The last few besides that one were at least competitive.

Yeah. It went to game 7 and Duncan really showed why he's the greatest PF of all-time.

Word. That was one of the best series in the last decade. This is not debatable, and it's not opinion... it's fact.

Pistons vs Spurs? What? That was one of the best series in the last 10 years and one of the only ones that was close until the SEVENTH game. Do you just hate defensive teams or something? It was a tough, physical series with two teams who played team basketball. Just because you don't have a Kobe or a LeBron in there doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable.

I was not entertained. If I remember correctly I went to sleep during one of the games. I like seeing teams with conflicting play styles, so Spurs/Pistons was the worse match up.

I disagree. At least in this case. Two physical, defensive teams hitting each other in the mouth every night was pretty enjoyable. Especially Game 5, which is to my knowledge is widely considered one of the best Finals games in recent years.

To each his own. Some like Steeelrs/Ravens, I prefer Patriots/Jets.

From what I have seen, Spurs vs. Cavs followed by Lakers vs. Nets was bad too.

I thought Spurs vs. Pistons was actually somewhat entertaining.

As a Pistons fan, I hated Pistons-Spurs. Not because we lost, but i felt like the entire series the Pistons were totally off their game. We had very tough series' against Indiana (6 games) and Miami (7 games) just before the Spurs. I'm surprised Detroit made it to 7 games against the Spurs. I'm more of a fan of the 2004 Finals. :p

They were. I'm a Pistons fan too and we were definitely stifled by that Spurs defense. But we stifled them too, took them off their game and won through grit and hustle. It was a great series because both teams were out of their element and both needed to adapt. We were able to push it to 7 but honestly the home court was too much to handle in the end.

Agreed. Just because you don't have one player on each team running up and down the court and scoring 18923740891230489 points in a game doesn't mean that the teams were bad. The series didn't go my way, and I was literally pissed for like a month after it, but it was undeniably great.

I'd vote for Spurs vs. Nets or Spurs vs. Cavs. Pistons vs. Spurs was actually quite good. Lots of close, hard fought games even if the pace was a little slow.

I'd say it was a great series for games 5 (one of the best games I remember watching in my life),6 and 7. Games 1 through 4 were boring, all blowouts! The worst I can remember in the past decade must be Spurs Nets or Spurs-Cavs. Those were so freaking boring. I would blame the Spurs but the actual responsible would be the very, very weak Eastern Conference.

Chill out, ace. Reaching the conclusion that you may not be a fan of a team you list *three* different times as being a part of the "undebatable" worst finals ever is not speaking from ignorance, its speaking from having eyesight and basic reading skills.

I am chill, however, making an assumption based on a single post is most definitely speaking from ignorance, especially since I stated why I disliked the Pistons v Spurs series. He didn't reach the conclusion that I wasn't a fan of the Spurs. He reached the conclusion that I dislike the Spurs, which is not the same thing. Best/Worse Finals is an opinion, and it is "undebatable"

Uh huh..apparently where you come from explaining why you didn't like one series also covers why you felt compelled to mention the other two seriesKingOfOldSkool

Because the other two series weren't brought into question . Reading is good, comprehending what you are reading is better.

getting pissy about someone making a pretty obvious conclusion based off your axe grinding as if he launched a personal investigation into you is being "chill".

KingOfOldSkool

Yeah, I'm getting pissy because you figured me out. I'm a secert Spurs hater, which is a completely obvious conclusion to reach because I have the opinon that the Spurs have the 3 most boring series to watch this decade.

Whatever, couldn't care less. I'll leave you and your "undebatable" opinions on a subjective discussion be.KingOfOldSkool

It is because it is subjective that it is not debatable in my mind.

To be fair, your OP is a little ambiguous in that regard.

You made it seem as though it was common knowledge that those series were the worst, which is fine but I think you said it in a "matter-of-factly" kind of way like it was an undeniable truth. I thought Spurs/Nets was OK, not great, but I can understand why one would consider that series being bad as common knowledge. The same can be said about Spurs/Cavs, which I think pretty much everyone hated, including Spurs fans. To rope Spurs/Pistons though into that mix is a bit of a stretch because MOST people didn't feel the same way about it. So it doesn't really fit contextually. You didn't do a great job in indicating that it was simply based on your own perception. I mean, you did, but I can see why someone would misinterpret that you were speaking more generally.

The other thing is, all 3 series' were distinct. The only real constant is that the Spurs played in all over those series and the Spurs won all of those series. So wouldn't it make sense for someone to connect the dots there and believe you hate the Spurs? Even if that's not the case, I think that's a reasonable assumption to make.

Spurs vs Cavs would be first. I also didn't like the Lakers vs Magic, in 09 I think it was... The playoffs that year were great, but didn't enjoy the finals.

As a Spurs fan... I am not complaining about those Finals since we won them all. But the Pistons battle was not terrible in anyway, it was an awesome series. The Cavs one was lackluster since Lebron couldn't carry a team on his own and with the Spurs D he was basically kept in check.

I have no idea how people would find the Spurs boring. I'm always entertained, win or lose, when seeing their playoff runs. People(not here)say Spurs play dirty, Duncan is too boring a star, Ginobili is a flopper(I'll admit I've seen a few flops), But not boring to me, butmaybe I'm just a fan.

I don't think any NBA Finals series that makes it to say 7 games can be considered boring, especially when most of you probably watched Game 7, cause regardless of what's going on, it's Game 7 of the NBA Finals, that's amazing, that rarely happens. So I can't go with Spurs/Pistons but Spurs/Nets I don't even remember so I'm going to have to go with that matchup. My second would be Spurs/Cavs or Lakers/Magic. I am a Lakers fan but that series was just ehh. Even after winning the championship, I didn't feel a sense of accomplishment. Compared to last seasons victory over the Celtics, '09 was just boring.

No I see where he's getting at, I was happy the Lakers won and all, but everyone could tell that the Magic were the classic "just-happy-to-be-there" team and that they didn't stand much of a chance against the Lakers. On the other hand, last year's Finals was very much up for grabs and it felt like LA had finally killed its demons from the '08 debacle.

Pistons Spurs IMO was a great series. Yes some of the games were sloppy, and low scoring but that was due to 2 of the greatest defenses uin the last decade, not bad offensive execution. Easily one of my favorite series.

Spurs Cavs was a dreadful mismatch

Pacers vs Lakers was pretty crap

The Nets in both of their final series against LA and the Spurs were pretty brutal

and Orland L.A i though was an overall poor series, Dwight Howard was shut down and Orlando didnt really have a chance despite some close games

probably 2006 or 2007. Refs really bsed the mavs in the 06 series. That's the only time i can think other than 05 superbowl where refs really altered a game majorly.
