I kind of like Start Ocean; my problem is the battle system - it is too much for me to handle; I'm just terrible playing this series. However, I enjoy watching my young brother playing it - it is maybe his favorite series.

Hahaha yeah, but Star Ocean is way "worse" for me! I remember playing the third game and after a part where you had to connect the trains in a cave, the battles became so much worse that I couldn't go on anymore, I was getting pawned at every corner! Lol. And greatfluffy, yeah the storyline is not that great, but it is fun (in my opinion, that is!)

Same here. I didn't like it also because too much back-traveling.
I like the DQ series a lot. I turned into a fanboy with DQVIII and now I have Rocket Slime and can't wait for DQIX, DQ swords, or DQ monsters Joker or whatever the hell they decide to call it over here. Not as interested in Dawn of Mana, KH3, FFXIII, etc.
Yeah, Dragon Quest is really good, but the battle system turns me off sometimes... because it is "too" old school for me, for some reason.michelle_moraes
I never really got into the DQ series. I bought DQVIII not long after it came out and took it back the next day, i really didn't like it, but i didn't really give it a chance :P

i felt the same way when i first played VIII still dont like it very much
I've never really been able to get into any of the Enix games. However, I do like DQ VIII a lot. I like the old school style and the story is well thought out and leaves you guessing all the way. Â
