I would say either 8 or 9. 8 cuz finding that the white seed ship in the mountains sucked. when you beat adel, then a whole bunch of fake save points and 1 real one, find the real one sucked. and Ultimacia was a *****.

9 cuz getting to Kuja (I think) sucked. going thru those stupid portals that looked like bubble rejects

X gets a honorable mention cuz Omega Weapon, and Sin were pretty hard & the last fayth was kinda hard

I'll go with Final Fantasy IX. VII was far too easy and VIII, whether the enemies leveled up with you or not, was far too easy to mass level and gaining all the abilities off of the GFs at the same time made it impossible for you not to crush the game. IX was not overly difficult, but it had its moments. The biggest thing about FFIX is that it is hard to mass level compared to VII and VIII. It helps keep you at where you should be when facing off against story bosses. It should also be noted that IX had the hardest optional boss found on all the 3D FFs: Osma. As far as X and X-2 go, I felt that all of the main game battles, whether boss or not, were all way too easy. The likes of Penance, Nemesis (Omega Gold) and others are worth mentioning, but they were mildly difficult compared to the likes of Osma or Hades in FFIX.

Then there will be Final Fantasy XII. People, I've been drooling over this game for 4+ years now and over that time I have found a lot of info on boss fights. Youtube has a whole bunch up and according to the Japanese gamers and their videos, the optional bosses of FFXII are just sick! Just look up Yazmat on Youtube to see what I am talking about, yikes!

I forgot about Osma & Hades! As for FFXII, As much as crazy it looked, ill know when I play it. For all we know, it could, but doesnt look like a cheat.

For crusader_333, to beat adel, beat the holy hell out of it like you would otherwise, and just heal Rinoa. But most likey, you beat it already

Probably VIII..I guess. Since none of them were really THAT hard. Some of the bosess in VIII just took a really really long time to beat. But the Junction system and GFs made things easier.

Final Fantasy IX is the hardest because of the final boss Nemesis and you dont gain any experience from the bosses still VIII was the best

Well this is really a tough one for me as I have played every Final Fantasy game up to X at least twice. (Currently working on Final Fantasy X). But wow, this is a tough question. For me VII, VIII, and IX were not much different in difficulty. I know that people say IX is hard and that VIII was hard as well. But I almost find that VII might have been a bit harder considering the bosses in the game. But actually if I think about it, VII was not really all that hard. Then I am playing X right now and not finding it to be very difficult either. So if I had to choose the hardest I do not think I could really choose. I find that they are pretty equal in difficulty for me, but then again I do not have any difficulty in these games since I have been playing all of them many times. So by playing them so many times, when you play a new Final Fantasy you have techniques and tactics that you can take into account and use them in the following Final Fantasy games. But I guess by choosing the hardest one when you first start out on the game, and if you were not expirienced, I would say it would come down to either VIII or IX.

IX was the hardest of the ones I have played. I never played VIII, so I wouldn't know. You deffinelty had to level up like crazy sometimes to get past a certain point, lol. And don't forget that FFIX's final boss, Necron was the hardest of the 3D final fantasies. Grand Cross was so random. FFX's Jecht was too easy, and so was Sephiroth.

I'd say IX. Not specifically cuz it's hard, but more the fact that I never really got as involved/caught up in it as the others. I was never really bothered about what happened to the characters (especially that damn monkey thief Zidane, what a weirdo).
