Tifa or Aeris- who does Cloud love?

I agree. I think it is Tifa also.

I had the same feeling when playing FF7 and when watching AC.

It seems like he loves Aeris in the game, but Tifa in the movie......

I don't know who he loves..

I just know I want Aeris with Zack, thus Cloud with Tifa.

aeris no longer has feelings for zack as is shown in the mini novel the maiden who travels the planet. at the end of AC where she is hanging out with Zack I think that tehy are just friends

Personally,I think he loves them both, he just can't decide which he loves more. Tifa is the one who is alive, so I guess that means she'll win in the end. :P

Was about to post this myself. I think he loved Aerith up until she died and then afterwards he decided on the runner-up because she was still breathing.. He obviously had a thing for Aerith which means he liked her more then Tifa because if it was the other way around he would have had plenty of time to go with it as he knew Tifa way before he met Aerith. Although I guess the answer is Tifa because your question isn't who "did" Cloud love. He obviously has a thing for Tifa now.

Well, I think Aeris did like Cloud, but the question is did she like the Cloud-Cloud or the Zack-Cloud, we will never know that.

However, Tifa knew the real Cloud from the beginning and loves him too.Example, the Northern Crater scene on Disc 2.

As for Cloud, I think his mind is too muddled up. I don't think he deserves none of the two beautiful ladies or even the teenage ninja girl, which is Yuffie :P

in the game, i go with tifa.

but in the movie, it's like that dream lifestrem sequence in cloud's hea never happened, because he's not suppose to be emotionally conflicted about the stuff he was thinking about in AC, that's what tifa fixed when she rummaged through his brain... so in the movie, it seemed more like aeris, even though it should not have happened that way if you follow what happened in the game.....

personally.. I think Cloud feels guilty for Aeris' death and blames himself, so can't stop thinking about her... but does actually want to be with Tifa... (movie)crushgoil

its just so hard to know forcertain. i know there isthe guilt element there but you dont know if it was something more. Its when Tifa says "which is it. A memory or Us?"and Cloud didnt answer her, that i thought it might be Aeris. But then all he said to Aeris was about his guilt.

He was living with Tifa but he moved to the church because he began feeling guilty about the death of Zach and Aeriths. Something like that, I think it was in the Reunion files.

i just think he cant make up his mind due to his answer to tifas question a memory or us? by saying to aeris but i let you die.

He loved Tifa in the game and the movie...and Crisis Core, and the novel, and...need I go on? :P

Cloud never had a romantic interest in Aerith. He knew Aerith from Zack. He protected her because it was someone Zack knew. He also is extremely upset about her death, not because he loved her, but because he failed to protect her just like he did with Zack. The last line in FFVII where he says he can go see her, doesnt mean he was in love with her. He wanted to make sure she was happy wherever she was because he was guilty for not saving her.

Oh and in AC before the begining of the movie, he was living with Tifa (event between FFVII and AC are in the Novel that came with the Collectors Edition of AC). He moved out because he contracted Geostigma and didnt want anyone to know or cause anyone any pain. He went to the only other place he knew, the church, it wasnt because he love Aerith. It was because he loved Tifa too much to let her know he was dieing. The dreams/flashes/whatever you want to call them, were just him wanting to be forgiven for not saving Aerith.

At the end of AC, Aerith lets him know she is ok and he doesnt have to feel guilty for not saving her because she is happily at peace with Zack, the person she loves.

Yeah. Cloud doesn't love Aeris (sorry, i prefer to call it that way... Aerith just don't sound good to my ears). He was just guilty for not being able to protect her. And at the end of AC, it seems like Cloud has finally moved on from that guilt.

It is safe to assume that Cloud has loved both Tifa and Aerith at certain points in his life. People may say that he was only trying to protect Aerith because of Zack, but that is not really the case. In the Ultimania guide it is explained that Cloud's Jenova cells molded themselves to the situation and people Cloud was interacting with, that is why at the beginning he was more at ease with Aerith.

However, Aerith started unraveling Cloud's curtains way before Tifa had to go into the Lifestream and finish the job. This is also confirmed in the "Maiden who Travels the Planet" novel, where Aerith clearly states that Cloud did the things he did because he was Cloud. At first, he reminded her of Zack, but she began to see these things that made Cloud. Cloud was living a lie, but had he not been himself during the journey while Aerith was alive, she would have never noticed these patterns. Aerith also explains how she started to fall in love with this Cloud, because of his awkwarness.

Now, in the case as to how Cloud loves now, I doubt there is a clear answer. Its obvious that both ladies occupy a special place in his heart, but neither the end of FFVII nor Advent Children is explicit enough to let people know. We may debate all we want about what "I want to meet her" means and about what we see in AC, but the fact remains that everything is too vague.

I think from the "maiden who travels the planet" novel we can clearly see that Aeris was in love with Cloud", she loved him more than she previously loved zack", and I think Cloud loves Tifa but wont let himself be with her in case he loses her like Aeris, as he thinks Aeris death was his fault.

I know that I am super late to this reply, I'm not sure if this has been said before but in the game Cloud wasn't cloud when he was with aerith, she died and Tifa put Cloud back together. Cloud was "Zack, Cloud, Sepiroth, a clone" and whatever else. He loved Tifa from a kid to an adult. I think he loves Tifa more.
