I would say your healer is your most useful character. The healer is at the core of your fighting party and without her/him, you would die quickly. For example, in Final Fantasy VII, I was fighting bosses and was getting quite frustrated ( ) because I could not kill him since he kept casting poison attacks on my party. I eventually figured out that Aeris was by savior because she could heal Barret (my strongest character) so that he wouldn't have to worry about life and keep attacking.taiwanesealn
Well thats good having a healer, but thats hwy I liked FFX alot too. You had the sphere grid where you could take any character down any path you wanted, so you could have Tidus with WHite Mage, Black Mage, and all kinds of other skills. So the sphere grid was very helpful in making your characters have lots of skills to help you throughout the game.

I only really found that freedom at the start of FFX with the Expert Sphere Grid. I would have to agree with you about the Red Mage but I would say that healing is the most important magic to have.

Well I liked it on FFX where you could go all over and have lots of abilities for your characters, like taking Lulu's path with Rikku o Kimarhi, that was the best part about it.
I would say that STRENGTH characters are the most useful kinda characters. If it was only healers that were alone, they would be too busy healing themselves since they have pretty low lives. So it's nearly impossible for them to attack.
If wizards or any mages fight alone.....sure they do tons of damage, but they have really little life. They could die really fast. Strength both has vitality and strength. They could use X-Potions to heal themselves so I gotta say Strength chars would be the best. Strength is really needed to gcharacters, if they don';t have, they would be very weak making it nearly impossible for a person to finish a FF game.
I'll have to agree with you on that one. Although you are right with the White Mage comment, you already have a White Mage in the Red Mage. If trained right, a RDM can be one of the most powerful jobs, if not the most powerful job. So yes, RDM is the most useful, I think. XIIAxelCrossIIX
I feel the same way.

warriors have sufficient mp to do full-heal spells also, and in FFVII 1 person with Final attack and phoenix summon linked would be able to heal everyone when the characters starting getting killed off.
Personally i prefer to have 2 strong characters to deal damage (usually both meleers) and 1 high level healer

But.......they can just use Ethers or Mega Ethers to regain their MP back.

Theres a move to drain mp in many of the FFs, and i normally have more than spare items anyway (FFVII item dup trick works a treat, :P, almost max of all items in FFX now also)
