I was going to come back and say that too Cecil. :) I would have to say the Drakkengard series as well. They were superb games which many fans didn't know about. :( They had very complete stories, great game play, dragons, magic, technology, and a love story, even if it was twisted. Andraxal
I agree more than the Mana series. I just learned of their existance:?
Good question!! In my opinion,Square Enix could give more attention to Parasite Eve (I think this series could be a great more mature atmosphere-like kind of game, with a bit of fantasy setting stuff on it). Dragon Quest outside Japan could also receive more emphasis, for a younger audience.
I haven't played Drakkengard yet, so I don't know... and as for Mana series, I believe it receives good spotlight, but bad developers... XD
The Mana games were good up until this point? Have you played Children of Mana, or Dawn of Mana? Hahaha! I think this new one is a GODSEND from both of those games, which are fairly new as well! :) You're so silly Jayvon! Grandia games are actually of very good quality, infact a lot of fans don't even know of thier existence unfortunately. :( You're right Miss Aeris, the Drakkengard game could actually get spotlight if they made it on the PS3! :) It would work greatly if they did do that, because the PS3 has lots capacity and a lot of room to work with!
Below is a link to a SE trailer, and it's a very good one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ejyf9cMYShY
The story is very complex, so somethings you won't obviously understand, and you're seriously going to wonder why those tree said: Damn I'm hungry! That didn't even touch me.... My beauty is my sin. I'll spoil those a little for you. They each are given immense power, but something is taken away from them, or they must suffer something in exchange. The red knight suffers from not being able to taste anything, and starvation for eternity. The pretty boy suffers from not being able to feel any pleasure. The woman was once a very beautiful woman, but her looks were taken. Another one is stuck being a child for eternity in exchange for magical prowess. The story is about a youngman named Nowe, and his destiny. The main story is about a war between Dragons, and the Nameless. (The gods actually!) There is plenty to spoil, so I'm not going to.
Btw I forgot to tell you, about Lair, you said it looked a lot like Drakkenguard, which is true, except for the fact that in Lair is all about riding dragons, if i remember correctly you never walk, so Lair is more like Warhawk but with friqing giant dragons.
sry for the offtopic.

the drakengard games were great, I'd love if they made a third for the ps3. If I didn't make a point to pick up every single SE game I can find though I never would have heard about them. I can't wait to pick up lair though as well. Anything with dragons piques my interest!!
You're very right Yuna! I'm glad you've played them! Which one did you like better? I loved the 2nd, although my favorite guy was Caim, and poor Angelus The Red Dragon. :( I felt like I got backstabbed in the 2nd for the final battle, however I had a feeling it was comming ever since visiting the dragon sanctuary. What do you think the 3rd one could be about? Do you think it should be a stand alone or sequel? This series definitely needs some more publicity... :(

Andraxal
the 2nd one is definately better. They fixed some things. I think the 3rd one should be sort of a stand alone. Obviously with the same cities etc. but a completely different cast, and maybe even a different angle... (not play as a knight)
I don't know. I really LOVED Manah's backstory...but Caim needs to be laid to rest..Maybe it could be a sequel, and the story would be as follows: You're a woman who's out for revenge. You were cast out of your own kingdom by the ones you've sworn to protect. (Yeah a knight again!) The kingdom you've strived so hard to protect has turned on you, by stealing your child upon birth. Beaten, tortured, raped, framedand exiled you secretly plot your revenge. You play about 15 years after these events, and you learn that your child has been placed upon the throne usurping the ones you used to protect by the vile senators. You're mission is to exact revenge upon those senators, retrieve your child, and perhaps gain back the trust of your kingdom? However there should be many plot twists! Like the arrival of Nowe, who heard that Dragons are up to their old crossbreeding tricks and came to slay your child. You could befriend him and not know his true intentions....Good plot twists like that! :) You could also make a pact with a dragon, you could go searching for one, and make a pact that you'll be granted favor, and abilities untill you've fofilled your mission....Sound cool? Andraxal
Yeah, I suppose that sounds good. It feels like it's been done before though... That storyline wouldn't keep my attention for very long.
You're right it has been done before, however that never stops people from doing it again! :) As long as you can pull it off greatly, then there's no worry. I wasn't very detailed, however I could be. :) Yeah, I'm sure it'd work! We should play as a female since the first two games we played as a male. I like hardcore women like Major Kusanagi off of Ghost in The Shell, more then ditsy, selfish, or dainty little girls. Andraxal
*shrugs* I would buy it just to have the whole series, but I probably wouldn't actually play it if that was the storyline. I'm all for having a powerful female, but I'm soooo tired of the whole "revenge" theme.
Hmmm, ever played as the bad guy for once? (Disgaea) That's always fun! However I've NEVER heard of SquareEnix doing parody or comical games...What is your ideal story for the next Drakengard game then yuna? Andraxal
I've never played disgaea (hence why I'm excited for the psp remakes). As far as drakengard games go, I have no idea. Maybe some sort of storyline designed to help out the dragons? They need human help to get rid of a plague that threatens their existance? and rather than fighting humans you fight a new kind of being?
They already did a new kind of being through Nowe who was a wingless Dragon. I'd like to help the Nameless (the gods) because they were the rightful ones, even though they consider humans thier playthings....no one has ever helped them, and we all know that the dragons are wicked backstabbers who'd do anything to win the war against The Nameless. Andraxal
that sounds kinda like valkyrie profile.. but it could be cool... speaking of which.. they could totally publicize those games better.
If they continued it(which they can't), the Chrono series. It wasn't that big here in the US(when it came out). Most people started liking the series after CC.
I would also say the VP series too. It's a good series, which should be one of the major series SE will work on.
@Gabranth- If Heroes of Mana was a godsend, why did it get a 5 in Game Infomer and 5.5 by Game Spot?
Seriously the Mana games was good this game sucks Andraxal but it s your opinion and grandia deseves more credit because it could be more of a effort into it. Back to the Mana game Andraxal tell me this much right. When you have a lot of units on the field and you direct them to different spots sometiimes they get caught up and go somewhere you didn t tell them to and possibly ruin your whole strategy
And when you are fighting a boss lets say with your leader [who can t ever die] and you are fighting a tough boss and you tell him to retreat because he s dying and he run away if he hit you while you are running away the leader will swing back and eventually die when you told him to retreat. And he story isn t that great and the character names is bad and if you get far enough you will notice a typo.. Now how is it a Godsend????
ummm...Have you ever thought of sending small amounts so that fixes the problem? I mean it's not hard to correct, it only requires EFFORT. Ooooh, gee wiz, sorry, forgot! Hahaha. He'll swing back, in self defense then try to run again, however this can be stopped by sending in other enemies so they don't pummel Roget....Have you still not learned this? I could help you if you need it, sounds like you haven't mastered some of the basics yet of this game. Not trying to sound insulting or anything. Why are you on so very very late at night? Hahaha. The story is typical, but one of the better ones in terms of story in the Mana series. The characters are very original when it comes to names, there's nothing wrong with wanting originality. Wow. A typo! SquareEnix NEVER makes typo's.....My god, the world...it's comming to an abrupt END!!! Hahahahahaha. No really, just kidding. Yes, I do beleive it is a godsend for this series. Andraxal
haha I'm lazy and I just keep Roget standing beside the ship so that he can defend it and constantly be healed/ stay at full health. It makes it so much easier for me.
When you get Wisp you can send Roget on the front lines because he can heal like 250-400 HP per shot which is pretty much all his HP. Not only that but mine has like a range of 4 so he can shoot blade beams to stay out of the fray. :) Andraxal
sounds brilliant!!
No I mastered the game but sometimes when U in a major fight and it requires a lot of units to go head on with the enemy this will happen especially when you are fighting [the silver haired guy I forgot his name and i am too lazy to remember] but when you are fighting him for the last time I had problems with that. I eventually won off of a game mechanic problem which my robot was hitting him and he couldn t hit him back and that s how i won... But listen did you guys ever hear of Veoh???
Don't you know? You shouldn't trust the scores from major websites, as they are usually biased, and compare at odds. You should read my HoM review. People are biased, and base it off of Square Enix, and say they're very unhappy with Square Enix, however I rated it as a GAME, not a Square Enix game, I didn't add an extra few points for being a fan, I added them for being a good game. It's because it's a handheld RTS, not one for the computer, I don't know WHY people thought it would be on the scale of Diablo....? I almost NEVER trust the reviews done by GameSpot staff.... I only listen to the ones done by players like ourselves. It was a godsend FOR THE SERIES, is what I was saying. Andraxal
I know. GS gave Blue Dragon a 6, while everyone else gave it at LEAST an 8(at most a 9). I normally read GAMER's reviews, because
1. They aren't sellouts.
2. They're pretty unbiased.

I tend to trust comments but pay little attention to the rating number. Sometimes only one complaint is listed but the game is given a 5.. it never makes sense to me. Gamespot actually gave pretty good reviews for children of mana, sword of mana, and dawn of mana.. but I don't really agree with the numbers they gave (just as an example). Even for gamers' reviews the numbers tend to be more biased than the actual comments contained within.

I liked the number before GS changed it.

you could call Threads of Fate a comical game. that is, as long as you play as the girl in the game....i'm not sure what her name was, but she was a total brat:lol:
i recommend playing it at least once, it's not the best game but it's still worth it.

ohhh yeah. I started playing as her but she irritated me so much that I stopped playing the game. I guess some people might find her funny instead of just annoying.

You know, not that many people gave BD an 8 or 9. I believe they were mostly 6s and 7s. I am not saying that Gamespot is this wonderful place where all their reviews are the most amazing. But they don't really tend to overrate (I'm looking at you IGN), and they usually have some really good stuff to say.
Blue Dragon was rated right by Gamespot because it is a game that has a lot of problems and is very dissapointing. I picked it up a couple days ago and I don t even wanna play it anymore because of it s weak storyline and annoying cast of characters. It anybody says that Gamespot isn t accurate when it comes to rating a game pick up Blue Dragon and you will find out how accurate G spot isJayvon215
This has to do with this topic how?
Have you heard of the saying beuty is in the eyes of the beholder? if you haven't, then I see what kind of gamer you are.
i personally think tactics should be WAY more popular than it is. hopefuly A2 and war lions will do it some goodfatboi94
I doubt it. It should be, but it won't, sadly.

Uhhh. Excuse me! Hold the gravy train buck'aroo! Blue Dragon is NOT a SquareEnix game, thus you're off topic in a big way, so please don't start a brand new topic within this topic. :) I know I'm a hypacrit however there is a better place for comments like those. however I'm to lazy to link it, so just stroll on over to Non-SquareEnix games thread. :D Onto the next page!
First of all you two brought the topic up so when I give my opinion you try to play me out and try to say it has nothing to do with the topic second i know it s not a SE game and im glad because it sucks! third I base games off of true opinions which are mine and not bias like some of the ppl i seen on here. and last if you go off topic so what this is USA you have freedom of texts and you can say what you want i really don t care as long as it s interesting

Not everyone is from the US here smart one. I am, but not everyone here, like Fingertrap.
There is a better place to comment this. It's called the Non SE game discussions thread.
Also, research a game next time. If you played the game, you would see the name Mistwalker in the opening credits before the game started.
We don't want you to think Eternal Sonata(when it's released) is a SE game;)

I'm with Michelle on the Parasite Eve ordeal because I think the series should get alot more light.
