I don't exactly think Sephiroth is the stealthy kind of person and even if he was, Sin's attacks cover a big area as was seen in the Operation Mi'hen scene where Sin disintegrated an entire beach-load of people.Somegamer

Depends which form of Sephiroth...actually wait Sephiroth could kick its ass anyday. By basically asking this question you are also asking if Cloud would beat Sin since Cloud has bested Sephiroth in all there encounters.
It depends on the situation. If Sin hunted down and ambushed Sephiroth, Sin would most likely win by using his general energy barrier expandy thing and other large damage area attacks (although there is also a high chance that Sephy would be able to retreat and then ambush Sin later). If Sephy hunted down and attacked Sin, he would most likely win by: 1: Rip Sin a new one, and kill him easily from the inside like Tidus. Yew Yevon can only posses summons. 2: Summon meteor, crush Sin. 3: Summon meteor, gain power of the lifestream with no problems as Cloud is not in this equation. 4: Use Super Nova and burn Sin to a crisp using the sun. So I think Sephy would more likely win, but Sin might also.
While I agree that some Sephy fans just saying Sephy because he's their fav, there are also Sephy-haters who'll always choose whoever's against him because they are angry that Sephy takes so much attention away from their favourite character (and that FFVII takes attention away from their fav FF as well). And from these people we get redicluous reasons for Sephy losing like "Sephy gets stepped on and dies" when we all know that he could easily dodge or turn into his Bizarro form (which while smaller than Sin, wouldn't be too easy to crush).
I would have thought Sin, because that giga graviton or whatever, where he made those huge paths through the ground. Or graviwhatever, he like blew up everything.
*Final Fantasy 7 spoilers* Could'nt Sephiroth erect a barrier like at the Northern Crater to block all of Sin's attacks? Also, I think some people are underestimating the power of Sephiroth, I mean does'nt his JENOVA cells give him a tremendous amount of power as well as making him darn near impervious to death?
This is all an unfair fight. Sin is just too big. Now if it was Setzer and Sephiroth, that would be a fair fight. And Sephiroth will win. ^_^cloudstrife145
Heh, Setzer was the original badass that I believe Sephiroth's design was based off of. Sephiroth would beat Sin, but then Setzer would come and whoop Sephiroth, then go to an Opera and hook up with some ladies, all while winning a game of Five card Stud.
Sephiroth. He isn't revered for nothing. In real life... Man, Seph would not be able to pick up his sword, much less NOT get squashed by Sin. Although, FF logic... Sephiroth. Sin was kind of a pushover when you think about it.
That's a pretty hard question. Because both character seemed virtually unbeatable in their respective worlds. But due to the fact that sephiroth has a bigger "arsenal" if you will, up his sleeve, I think he would take this one home.so... Sephiroth.
Sin was a bad ass in FFX. Gotta give him props. Even though Septhiroth is tiny in comparison, he has a strong will to destroy. His speed & weapon skill gives him a chance in very battle. I really don't know who would win but if Sephiroth wasn't so damn cocky, he'd could have ended Cloud's life a long time ago & probably destroyed the whole planet. So on that note, I'll give the nod to Sethiroth for being the more evil of the two.

Face the facts people, we are talking about real life with no Final Fantasy mechanics, so it's obvious that Sin could just unlease an instant Gravija to pwn Sephiroth or crush him. There's also the possibility of Sin releasing that Energy Barrier it used at Operation Mi'hen, look at what it did, it desintegrated everyone on its path.
Everyone is going to vote Sephiroth because of pure Final Fantasy VII madness

Exactly, tis full of Sephiroth fanboys here, he's way too over-rated. I do like Sephi, I think he was bad-ass, but people worship him way too much. Sin would win in the fight, he's way too big, and did totally wipe out advanced cities...
Its quite hard to see things on an unbiased level when it comes to these things, but I look at it as follows Tidus>Sin....Sephiroth>Tidus....Sephiroth>>>Sin....have to give it to Seph.
