I voted "Other" because I don't like what I see on the horizon, asa Square RPG player. I'm not in to the tactics games or thier alternative games too much - at least not the ones you listed, and FFXII: Renevent wings looks like another tactics game as well (thanks to the new producer that came from the tactics series - we don't have a full blown RPG like we shouold); so I'm basically just waiting to see if they are going to "surprise us" with something - but no, not anything in your poll is striking an interest for me.magusat999
I agree.
Either Crisis Core, The Last Remnant, or, something from the online store.Kenshin18
Oooh, I forgot about the online store....and that is when I will indefinitely go broke.
When's that open anyways?
I want Heroes of Mana first because it looks like it is going to be a great Real Time Strategy game. You can control humans and monsters, and many at a time. I am a fan of Lost Magic, and this game seems to completely blow it out of the water. I've already saved up about 700$ for games in a seperate acount too, so this isn't going to hurt my budget either.
Ps. I take about 30$ from each of my paychecks and insert it into my gaming fund. Currently at 731.52 :)

That account thingy is pretty neat! XD
I'm also looking for Heroes of Mana first, because it seems like FFXII: RW.... so I think we can get a taste of what's to come!

That is true too, however I think Heroes of Mana will retain a different kind of charm than the Final Fantasy games. I think they should really put a lot of effort into recreating the Mana series.

I am a serious meiser, I hoard all the money I make. I rarely spend it. But soon I will have to because of college.

Yes, yes it does. I just preorder all the games I want when I have some extra spending cash and then later I don't have to worry about whether I have the money to buy them.. lol. Speaking of which I have some more games which I should preorder. I plan to buy heroes of mana but I might wait for a preplayed copy.. preordered war of the lions and crisis core, will buy revenant wings for sure.. but I haven't decided about DQM (which no one here seems interested in).

Yea, I think preordering is such a wonderful thing!
I was never really into DQ so I probably will not get Monsters.
I kinda wish I had a PSP! Crisis Core is looking really cool (both graphically and gameplay-wise)!
Are the mana games any good? The last ones haven't gotten very good scores...so I am wondering if Heroes is going to be good?

I will be sure to let you know whether it's any good as soon as I pick it up. (Maybe Aeris and I will make a running commentary for it like we did for Chocobo Tales..?) I enjoy the mana series in general, they imput some interesting ideas into the rpg frame. Legend of Mana is excellent though it's a bit expensive now to buy even on ebay. I also really enjoyed Sword of Mana. The two newer mana games have a few things which annoy me enough that I don't really enjoy playing them, but I do own them and have given them a descent try.

Ok, cool, thanks for the input! I think I will just keep a close eye on Heroes and maybe look around for Legend of Mana...

I kinda do the same thing, though, part of it goes towards gas to get me to and from work :P
I actually currently have enough to get a PS3.......though, I'm wondering if I should with college starting here in a week or so.... :P But, once the 60 gigs are gone, they're gone and I don't really wanna spend an extra $100 on an extra 20 gigs of hardrive (since I probably won't get close to using 60) I'm at a impass......
I know if I got a PS3, I would get Last Remnant (whenever it gete released that is).

I know how you feel, I can buy an Xbox, or a Wii. It's tempting at times just to splurge, however when I splurge it is usually only 5 bucks. I even feel bad then. :D I wouldn't reccomend buying anything when you start college, since studies should be your number one priority. Yeah, and if I buy a new system I don't want to have to pay more money to upgrade it just because of it's limitations. (Sorry, I know I'm off topic just a bit-But you can consider the PS3 SquareEnix property since they have stakes in it.)
The new Heroes of Mana game comes out in four days. Anyone else ready to go out and get it the day it comes out? Andraxal
I'll definitely get it wednesday! Like I stated somewhere else around here, I'd like to taste what's to come with FFXII: Revenant Wings playing HoM, as they seem to share many features regarding the RTS system. I'm just curious to see how does it play an RTS game on a handheld! :D

Revenant Wings sounds like it's going to be very much like Lost Magic (which I really enjoyed). I'm excited for HofM just because it looks like it'll be a lot better than Dawn and Children. I'll probably pick it up asap, and hope that it doesn't let me down too (though gamespot seems to think it's well done, and they agreed that children and dawn weren't that great, so I have some hope).
The reviewer is not going to sway me though. Just because the AI is a little dumb, does not mean it is not a good game. I am still going to get it, regardless. Sometimes Gamespot reviews are overly harsh, and I think you'd warm up to it after a while. :) Give it a chance, everyone openly hated on Final Fantasy XII however, it was a GREAT game.
Gamespot only gave Heroes of Mana a 5.5 :(.. uh oh.crushgoil
I saw that. Go figure though, I think GS rates so so so harshly sometimes.

They gave Star Ocean: TTEOT a good score and that game was horrible.
Gamespot rates harshly, just as bad as X-Play sometimes. No matter what the reviews say I'm going to get Heroes of Mana though. I called around today, Walmart has it but is not putting it into the shelves until tomorrow. Gamecrazy only has enough copies for the people who reserved-go figure. Gamestop/EB didn't get any in today, they said the UPS truck would come tomorrow. I called Target to ask wether they had it or not, and he argued with me telling me there is no Heroes of Mana, so I ended up complaining to a manager only to find out they aren't going to carry it. -_- He kept telling me that Heroes of Mana was an old game that they don't carry those kinds of games, I told him it's for the Nintendo DS so it isn't even possible for it to be as old as he said. However he said it was for the original SNES, and I got EXTEMELY ANGRY with him as he continued to argue and he hung up on me. I was seriously angry, so I complained, Hahahahahaha! Had to get that off my chest! Andraxal
Yeah. GS, X-Play, and EDGE judge harshly(EDGE gave FFX a 6/10! )
IGN is a bad judge. They are sellouts.

I really hate IGN, poor layout, too many advertisements, why pay to get game info and stuff too?

I think you should of said the whole title of Heroes of Mana for the DS, because there's one for the NES. You did tell him it's for the DS, so he should of noticed the difference.
People are crazy:lol:
No on the phone I told him the whole name, repeatedly. I told him it was for the DS too, he basically said I was a liar.
*Edit: That's not going to stop me either, today I'm going to call around see if I can pick the game up somewhere today. Walmart should have it today.
