I honestly need to ask you saints row 2 fans this how could you eve think of buying that game now ?? GTA4 took what saints row 1 did mediocrely and made it into something beatiful.

The online is better

story = better

graphics = better

You kind of answered your own question this our opinion. We can have and enjoy both also of course GTA 4 would be better it is newer and has had time to improve also it has great devs. I don't know everything about the story, but if it builds off of the last game like I think it will from the trailer it could be amazing. Graphics SR 2 is aiming for a different less realistic artstyle. Also we still don't know everything about the game, I don't see the reason to compare them at every turn.

This is probably why they changed the review policy so a game like this could get a 10 when before one little thing would bring the game down. Hopefully we won't be seeing any more 10s for awhile after Metal Gear Solid 4 :P They would be the legendary duo for most of this generation and it would mean something.

The engaging story ( :roll: ) ? or the lackluster online ?

the 1st saints row was pretty much a strerotypical pile of garbage with mediocre online with GTA4 getting so much praise ad perfect scores IMO there would be really no point to get saints row unless you eithe:

A. LOVE LOVE LOVE THE SERIES

B.Like to waste 60$

This is probably why they changed the review policy so a game like this could get a 10 when before one little thing would bring the game down. Hopefully we won't be seeing any more 10s for awhile after Metal Gear Solid 4 :P They would be the legendary duo for most of this generation and it would mean something.

Either a game doesn't get scored well enough ("oh noes, it should have been a 9.5, GS is teh biazzzzz!!!! wahhhhh") or it scores amazingly well and they're STILL somehow biased ("what? this game didn't deserve a 10 or 9.5, they overrated it, it's really a piece of crap").

I feel sorry for the GS editors now. They just can't win no matter what.

This is simply saying it's as close to perfect as it can get, which is what a 10 has always been anyway. It's just the forumites who casually tossed about the term "perfect", not the reviewers.

This is a night that Lemmings and Cows can put aside petty fights, drink a cold one, and toast each other, knowing that we made the right choice in a next gen console.

This is what gaming should be, freedom, choice, superb storytelling, competitive online gameplay, entertainment for adults that rivals and surpasses that of TV and film!

Gaming should not be reduced to the lowest common denominator, simple party and puzzle games, no-story action romps for quick thrills.

Its good to see gaming is still moving in the right direction.

Cheers. I also hope GTA IV has opened a pandora's box that will make other gaming devs look at what Rockstar did right and take what they've learn and make their games better.

I respect your opinion, and I can't change it. Though I didn't see much slang or ethnic stereotyping maybe Julius said plaer once in a while but that ws the only thing that stuck out. I also like how they chose different gang types instead the usual Bloods, Crips, and Mafia type they were all unique. Plus there have been blank protaginists in games for years, but once you reach the last levels he does talk and he talks more frequently in the next game. But this is your opion you can play what you want, just allow people to play what they want.

That would be sublime, as long as they see what Rockstar did right with the game, not just build stupid games based on sex and violence.

Gaming is an up and coming art-form, and needs to be seen as such. To many people see it as a toy, or hobby, and even some in the industry that actually makes games see it that way.

If dev's do what you are saying, and look past the media storm, and see what Rockstar did right to make this such a gem, then gaming will have a bright future indeed.
