10 reasons why I got a PS3 instead of an xbox 360

Seriously though, no one cares...

10. Compatibility. I could just find any micro USB wire, and start charging my controller. Also, I can watch videos, listen to music, and view pictures off any computer in the house wirelessly. Sony never screws you over for buying extra stuff.

Honestly, to buy them both is like 500 bucks?

There is no excuse to not have both anymore aside from being a casual.

2. Didnt want to pay 400 bucks at the time

3. Xbox Live is win

4. All my friends have an Xbox

5. The 15 year old playstation controller sucks. I love the xbox controller.

6. Netflix

7. The majority of multiplatform games are better on the 360

8. BC with old xbox games.

9. 3 year warranty

10. The day that will live in infamy. (I know... it was 65 years ago. However, i will still support an American corporation over any foreign corporation)

As a note. Ive bought a ps3 since then. I still play my xbox way more.

First off I have nothing against the xbox 360 and if i had the money i would gladly have both. I am no PS3 fanboy, I just got the system for the following reasons:

1. Online is free - I know people complain about it but the simple fact is it is free. And i dont complain about something when it is free. It does the job and provides me with everything i need. I have never had any online gaming issues because of lag etc. so why complain when i am getting a service i dont have to pay a premium for. Cool story bro!

2. Looks - Personal opinion it looks alot better than an xbox. Sharper, cleaner, more eye catching.OPINION

3. xbox's break - This may be a personal thing but i have had alot of mates that have had the red ring of death, and ended up getting a ps3. So why buy something that is not reliable.My launch 360 says hi

4. GT5 - As a keen racing game fan this s another reason. I know it has been delayed and delayed but thats not bothering me.Yea! A game that hasnt been released yet!

5. G25 - Best racing wheel out there and only for the PC and PS3 OPINION/no one gives a crap

6. Controller - It just feels a lot more ergonomic to hold than an xboxTriggers on PS3 SUCK (among general consencious (sp?))

7. God of war 3 - Enough said ????

8. Uncharted1 and 2 - Many either love or hate these game. I love them.?????

9. For people that got theirs early on PS2 compatibility ????

10. Blu-Ray - Still expensive for the films generally but the output quality is perfect. Interested to know why people went down the 360 route. But personally i think this will be the year of the PS3. Stand alone cost $50...-.-

Hmm had a look at the Fanatec, not sure about the looks of the thing but have heard good things about it. I'll stick the the G25 though, I spend enough as it is!! Don't discount the G25 though, I'd doubt it's that fair off being as good as those you mentioned, just wish I could use it with the 360 :cry: then I'd pick up Forza 3

I love how everyone uses "it comes with a blue ray player". Most people probably arn't even running them in 1080p due to a cheap t.v. or some reason that involves more money. But they love saying they have a Blue Ray.

I set out to buy a game console. Thats it. Nothing else. I bought a 360 for reasons that have been said over and over on these boards but to me it's what I feel is the best choice to spend my time TO PLAY GAMES.

When I want to watch a movie? Guess what? I watch it on my Blue Ray player in the other room!

Would you buy a gun if it came with tickets to the ballet? See where I'm going with this.

Don't get me wrong, I love the G25(very high quality wheel, just wish it had 360 support), I just think that Fanatec is better(and expensiver, and now I'm just making up words) Hell, I'd love to have a a RennSport Cockpit, ClubSport Pedals, a Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel,and three monitors but that'd cost over two thousand dollars.

I completely agree with TC. Its a matter of preference, and I prefer the PS3 over 360

- Free online: I probably would have never tried online gaming if I had to pay for the service (I thought I wouldn't enjoy it) so i greatly appreciate that its free, because i tryed it, and liked it.

- I too like the way the PS3 looks, but I wouldn't choose one console over another just because of its appearance, so we'll just call that an added bonus that the console i prefer also happens to look better IMO.

- RROD : #1 reason why i would never buy a 360, heck i probably would if I didn't think I would just be throwing away money on a console that is almost guaranteed to break.

- Exclusives, while there are some games exclusive to the 360 I wouldn't mind playing I like the PS3's line up better. - I own a backward compatible version, I no longer had a ps2 so that was a big deciding factor.

- Blu-Ray: Definite plus

For me personally, easy decision PS3>>>Xbox360, just my preference.

probably because reason 1. Also there's only a hand full of crappy games that won't work on BC ps3's. Graphical issues are more common, but it's mostly minor stuff.

The only PS2 games I want to play are ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, both God of Wars, and Metal Gear Solid 3. So why not just get a PS2? Because the PS2 doesn't play PS3 games, that's why.

You missed the point entirely. Instead of tying to find an 80gb PS3 you could just get a PS3 slim and a PS2 for $400 with full backwards compatibility.

4. Xbox LIVE has a larger community, and I just prefer it overall.

That's a good point. Then you could play every single PS game out there, excluding PSP. And $400 is about as much as you would pay for a good quality used BC PS3, so might as well get two brand new systems that play everything the BC PS3 can.

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9..10 year future proof life cycle. :P
