10 reasons why PC is superior to consoles

1.Superior Graphics.

2.PC games are much cheap than 60$ console games.

3.Free Online ( with exception of mmorpg's like WOW etc).

4.Mods,Cheats,Tweaks.

5.No need to discard any PC games unlike console games ( Discard PS 2 games after buying PS 3, Discard Xbox games after buying Xbox 360). Any older PC games can run on newer O/S by tweaks.

6.Steam (free DLC's,cheapest game deals/bundles)

7.Can upgrade PC components like Ram,CPU,GPU anytime you wish than discarding your PC

8.80% of console games eventually get ported to PC.

9.Vast Library of games ( old skool to next gen )

10. above all :

PC CAN DO ANYTHING ( 3D,Blu Ray,Pron,Movies,Music,Video Gaming,Work,Study)

So conclusion PC is superior to consoles.

People in SW need to realise that people have preferences that differ to their own.

All ten are reasonable, but can't change that the Ps3 imo has a far more exciting library. At the end of the day that's the most important thing to me when evaluating a platform.Sushiglutton

No. It might be objective that a PC cpu can have a higher clock rate for example, but that does not follow that it's better objectively. Why? Because someone's preference of what is "better" is subjective. What if I don't want a device that does everything? What if I don't want a device that has cheap games? I know these are weird examples, but I'm just illustrating the point that you can't say PC is objectively "better" than consoles.

Here's an extreme example: Some people like pain. You can't objectively say that it's better to not experience pain. That's a personal preference.

PC gaming isnt the messiah you pleb's make it out to be.

It's just another choice of platform and if it suits your needs more then more power to you, no need to constantly ram it down our throats on a bi-daily basis.

why do you think it has the biggest indie scene?

Wouldnt go as far as saying PC was the most user friendly, from a normal joe's standpoint thats why people tend to go for console, it plugs in boots up and does its job straight off the bat.

Consoles are designed with gaming in mind so much more streamlined and straight forward PC is not.

If we really want to get into all semantics PC is least user friendly in a few ways.

I think he means that everyone has the same controller on console and that on PC people have different KB/M setups which may give them an advantage. I don't really see how that is an issue since good mouse with a high DPI can be had for a cheaper price than a PS3/360 controller

Yes it can do everything (aside from playing certain exclusives, but that is not necessarily applicable here since PC has TONS more exclusives that are not available on consoles). There is literally nothing a console does that cannot be achieved with a PC.

The only major downside of PC gaming is a high entry price. I know people will say you can build a good rid for $4-500 but that is bare minimum. If you want to truly experience PC gaming and all of its advantages that you want to spend at least $800. Right now though you could probably egt by with a $600 rig since PC hardware is so far beyond the current console hardware.
