$100 bluray + $300 60GB 360 = why buy a ps3?

hmmm lets do the real math here

xbox360 - $299 + tax = $330

blue ray player - average $150 + tax = $165

now add those together and you get $495

and you spent almost $500 and still can't play little big planet, valkyria chronicles, MGS4, resistance and a host of others.

and chances are your video game system will be RROD'ed in a short amount of time. lets not forget the $50 a year for live

wow tc what a fail. thats a 100 pound blu ray player, not as good as ps3 blu ray player, 360 dosent come with wifi, or free online, + PS3 has a vast games library

and u now have to hook up 2 devices and now u risk RROD

Yeah I think you cows can stop saying the PS3 has no games, it has a promising lineup with an already impressive library. Plus I would liek a console that doesn't charge me to use my internet connection that I am already paying for to go online...

See to me people are getting smarter about their purchases. lol!! There are a lots of 360 Exclusive that can't be found on PC's. The reason PS3 exclusive are on PC is because it using a completely different development software. No developer in their right mind would want to convert ANY PS3 game to the PC as it would be too costly and a waste of time. Meanwhile, many PC Excluisve games are being made for the XBox 360, but not the PS3. LOL!! PS3 online is extremely slow. It to me less then 10min to download the XBox Live Experience update and over 30 mins to download PS3 latest update. Every download on the PS3 is very slow. Their servers and broadband are crap.

Everybody who wants to play quality games would. Most have. Wait until the NPD numbers are released and I'll prove to you. :lol:

It's obvious at least 20-25% of PS3 owners bought the system as a Blu-Ray player only with no desire to play games on it. That would explain the poor LBP, Motorstorm 2, Valyykrie Chronicles and Resistance 2 sales. All quality games that are worth owning, but hard lackluster sales their first 2 weeks.

Keep in mind that Sony could never charge for their online offering. If they did, there would only be a couple of cows online.

If I'm way off here, why don't cows buy those games? I still contend that Resistance and LBP are not that good. My opinion is based on what I've read in various forums...and the sales figures. You do have the multiplatform titles, of course...I do hope cows buy those or it wont be profitable for developers to port those over to the PS3.

Here is the thing though. We don not argue about how well games sell, we argue the quality. If we argued how well things sold, Xbox would be owned by the Wii. It's more like games that should be selling a million copies, haven't yet. Resistance 2 should have been over the 1 million mark by now. Definitely worldwide it should have been. So should LBP. It's quite obvious that many quality PS3 games aren't selling like they should. Neither game has past 1 million worldwide yet. That Blu-Ray player isn't $100 U.S. Dollars, its 100 U.K. Pounds lol.

That would come out to about $150 U.S. taking into account the exchange rate.

So $150+$300=$450

How does that equal the better deal?

Plus that Blu-Ray player is from a little known brand in the U.K. named BUSH......

a lot of cheaper blu ray players don't have support for profile 2.0 yet and the reason the PS3 is considered the best blu ray player is because everything can be upgraded through a firmware update. Once the Sony/Samsung/Sharp 2.0 blu ray players drop to that price than you can make the case of not buying a PS3 but by then the PS3 library will be plentiful.mmirza23

Because of the many great exclusive out only on PS3.... thats a huge reason why to get a PS3... but having a PS3 & 360 is a great idea cause you get 2 amazing consoles + one of them being also a blu-ray player...

having a single PS3 means only needing one HDMI connection, one peice of hardware taking up space, one power outlet needed, and so-on.. why double your troubles when you can just get a PS3?..

The TC has already expressed his regret for selling his PS3 for a 360 in some of those Killzone 2 blowout threads. Now he is trying to make himself feel better by justifying the prices of those things.

Kids, this is why you dont sell your consoles. Just because Sony, MS, or Nintendo are in a slump does not mean they will announce something huge just one day after you sold your console.

In this case, Sony was in a slump, TC sold PS3, few weeks later he sees Uncharted 2 gameplay, GOW 3 gameplay, Killzone 2 gameplay and many exclusives announced, thus regretting selling it.
