I own both consoles and decided to get a copy of the game "Dead Space" for the PS3 since according to IGN had faster load times than the Xbox 360 while still maintaining an identical graphical look.
However, before I opened my PS3 copy of the game, I've recently read that some PS3 owners have an issue trying to play this game at 1080p, since it always defaults to 720p. And even though they were able to "force" the game to play 1080p via the PS3's settings display menu, the 1080p actually looked worse than the native 720p.
Is this true? A 720p looking better than 1080p? Any other PS3 owners have this issue?
As weird as this sounds, a lot of people have been saying that's the case. Any other PS3 games encountered this kind of issue?
What about Xbox 360 owners? Anyone who owns a copy of "Dead Space" for Xbox 360 have the same problem? Or is your version of the game playing 1080p resolution? Does it strangely also look better down converted to a 720p?
Both my PS3 and Xbox 360 are connected via HDMI through my Samsung 1080p HDTV. And as much as I would love the faster loading times, I'd rather have a game playing on 1080p.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
