they're Anonymous, as in, an anonymous group of people who share the same ideals and come together and have a general consensus and idea of what they're setting out to do.

by creating a Facebook page, anyone involved with these illegal attacks against Sony's website, and anything else owned by Sony, allows for their IP addresses to be actively tracked. a supoena is just around the corner, i'm betting.

What do they do that is different? One thing I didn't understand was how they are meant to represent the freedom of Sony users (to modify stuff) and yet they have simply called any user that gets caught in one of their attacks 'collateral damage'.

they cant be linked to the annonyous group that is attacking sony, because that group in facebook is not doing anything ilegal and in fact facebook can't share their ips.

no it doesn't, you don't understand either the law or net neutrality, Facebook will NOT hand over any of these peoples IP adresses without a court order telling them to do so, no such court order has been issued, nor will it, the court order SONY was given in regeards to the Geohotz case is only for youtube and does not extend beyond the borders of the united states, i suggest you go aeay and do your research before spouting anymore nonsense quite frankly.

There is 0 proof that a single person in that group has ANYTHING to do with anonymous or any of the hacking. They've been doing this for so long and now suddenly they all openly join a facebook group? I'm sure they couldn't touch a single person there, simply for being in the group.

Lol, saw this a while ago, the whole thing is a joke. I doubt anyone at all will even notice or that it'll get any publicity. Only 12000 people said they'd come, though I doubt more than a third will actually go to the stores and do the sit-in, so maybe 600 people max, nothing will happen and Anon is wasting their time.

LOL, just goes to show how "legit" their haxx0r skilz are. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Anonymous are a bunch of basement dwellers who know how to organize DDOS attacks, and occasionally may get an actual hacker or two to participate in a cause. The fact that 1,200 of their members have now identified themselves by signing up for this group shows just how little they think anything through.

Sony could get the court to subpoena Facebook if they can prove that it's important enough to the case, or if Sony eventually decides to have a lawsuit against Anonymous and gets the court to subpoena Facebook so they can track down the identities of the defendants.

Also, this is the dumbest idea for a protest ever. Go to a store and not buy anything? ZOMG TEH ANARCHY!!! If these butt napkins want to do a boycott they should probably make sure that they actually have the definition correct, but I suppose that since none of them buy Sony products anyway they felt some additional action was necessary other than the status quote, no matter how ineffectual or uncommitted it is.

*Current manager on duty at Sony store calls police* *police arrive and ask offenders to leave and escort them off premises* *some cause trouble Police mace them and cuff them and put them in jail* lol simple as that...One cannot legally go onto private property and protest.
