they're Anonymous, as in, an anonymous group of people who share the same ideals and come together and have a general consensus and idea of what they're setting out to do.
by creating a Facebook page, anyone involved with these illegal attacks against Sony's website, and anything else owned by Sony, allows for their IP addresses to be actively tracked. a supoena is just around the corner, i'm betting.

What do they do that is different? One thing I didn't understand was how they are meant to represent the freedom of Sony users (to modify stuff) and yet they have simply called any user that gets caught in one of their attacks 'collateral damage'.

they cant be linked to the annonyous group that is attacking sony, because that group in facebook is not doing anything ilegal and in fact facebook can't share their ips.

they aren't fighing for the "users" they are fighting for something they want that just happens to be something a lot of users share their interest.
That's why they are attacking Sony anyway. Allegedly.inb4 Sony sues everyone listed, even those who are only signed up for the hell of it.

no it doesn't, you don't understand either the law or net neutrality, Facebook will NOT hand over any of these peoples IP adresses without a court order telling them to do so, no such court order has been issued, nor will it, the court order SONY was given in regeards to the Geohotz case is only for youtube and does not extend beyond the borders of the united states, i suggest you go aeay and do your research before spouting anymore nonsense quite frankly.Lol, saw this a while ago, the whole thing is a joke. I doubt anyone at all will even notice or that it'll get any publicity. Only 12000 people said they'd come, though I doubt more than a third will actually go to the stores and do the sit-in, so maybe 600 people max, nothing will happen and Anon is wasting their time.

Go to a store and not buy anything? ZOMG TEH ANARCHY!!! If these butt napkins want to do a boycott they should probably make sure that they actually have the definition correct, but I suppose that since none of them buy Sony products anyway they felt some additional action was necessary other than the status quote, no matter how ineffectual or uncommitted it is.Firebird-5

Ermm..nobody who visited his site or watched his YT video broke the law. Sony asked for IP adresses to prove the case should be judged in Californiasimply put they cant link the hacker attacks to a facebook group. period. join or not sony can't do anything, and they will not go trough a legal process to get facebook to release the group ips which they can do nothing with them.
