15 minutes of new Knack gameplay

It isn't a platformer. That's the problem with this game. Because of the artstyle people assume is going to be the Mario of playstation or the next Crash. Is just god of war with a cartoony look, hack and slash. 

The video at E3 was just bad guys appear, you hit them with hands, walk a straight line other bad guys appear. Although this video did have a bit of platforming but after 10 mins of killing some random bad dudes and even then the platforming wasn't that deep. Even GoW has a bit of platforming from time to time.

I really don't know what all the hate is about, the game looks solid and fun to play.

It doesn't really appear to elevate the genre though.

It's a new generation, and nothing about that game screams "next gen"  aside from a very few particle effects, lighting/shadow effects, and maybe that it will be running 1080p. Why is it so extremely linear looking??

That being said, I do really enjoy that style of game. Not everything needs to be shoot shoot shoot kill kill dismember shot shot kill kill kill. I could see myself playing this, but I would hope the game would have more substance in it's gameplay than it appears to have.

is that really the list of exclusives at launch for the xbone?? honeslty that looks terrible, nothing to gloat about.  the best game on that list is dead rising 3 and even that has no story and the gameplay is repetivtive and will get old fast.

Knack includes a local co-op mode that should, according to game creator and system architect Mark Cerny, help kids around 5 to 7 years old play the PS4 launch game. At Gamescom, Cerny showed us a brief demonstration of the same-screen mode, in which a second player controls a robot version of Knack who provides support for the first player.

Like Knack himself, the silver robo-Knack can combat and defeat enemies to grab their parts and grow bigger. The difference is that when Knack gets hurt and becomes smaller and weaker, robot Knack can donate his parts to the damaged Knack. Cerny noted that the two-player mode allows a parent to jump in and help his seven-year old child playing as the main Knack, and for a younger player like a five-year old to play as robot Knack without harming the overall experience.

"Progress is gated by what Knack does," said Cerny, indicating the second player won't hinder the first player as he or she progresses through the campaign.

Cerny wants Knack to be an inclusive, family-orientated game; he previously showed how developer Japan Studio built a giant DualShock to help its developers see how it would be to be an 8-year-old holding the controller. Knack will be one of the games available on the PS4's launch day, November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe.Article

Hmmm. The more I see this game, the more I understand what they say when they claim this game was built for children as its primary audience. I know, for some that sounds like a knock against it, but if you compare the gameplay here to what you get out of say Skylanders, you'd see there is a lot of overlap. 

It looks like an interesting title, and it would've been neat if this were the PSN+ game that fans got on day one instead of Driveclub (people could easily show more youngsters if they didn't have to pay 60$ to get this). W/e, at least the game is performing better than what I saw at E3. 

Also, lol at all the people saying it's bad because it's a kids game.  Seriously?  What age were you when you enjoyed Spryo, Crash, Mario (hell most of Nintendo's IPs for that matter), Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter?  Those games built this world for me when I was younger, now I'm 22 and I'm excited for this game.  Excuse me if it's not realistic enough for the rest of you.

Reminds me a lot of crash bandicoot and jak and daxter which isn't a bad thing at all.

I'm excited and will definitely be picking this game up day one.

its looks decent but sony is trying to show next gen graphics and thats where this game falls short.

it reminds me of a psone game, which isn't a bad thing. I think people are being way too harsh. This is the type of game that put Sony on the map. It makes sense for them to make one like it again. This will be a great game for kids, and adults, that aren't ridiculously picky.

Gameplay reminds me of the Lego video game series.
