It seems as if GT5 will come with a camera mode which will allow it to render still shots of the game at these resolutions... that's my guess anyway.

Going by that logic, seeing as nothing in the game is truly finished until the game goes gold and releases to manufacture. So, technically speaking, the graphics engine isn't finished either. Are you going to stop talking about that as well?

Well, i don't imagine the graphics getting better than what we've seen in GamesCom gameplay videos. And even if it does, the current one is freaking impressive, and we can talk about it. The damage shown in GamesCom was a disappointment to everyone, until Kaz said it was not close to the new damage they are working on. So why talk about the old damage?

funny thing is, forza looks almost JUST like those shots, but with jaggies. but less jaggies than gt5P

You tried to tell me that we can't speak about it because it's not final. I provided reasons why that logic isn't sound. It's as simple as that.

It doesn't matter if you think the graphics are going to get better or not. By your logic, since it isn't final, no one can talk about it. Now, as far as the damage model goes, it also doesn't matter if it's disappointing or not. It's still a fair talking point in relation to the game, as is the car list, WRC implementation, NASCAR, etc. that just get swept under the rug in favor of talking about GT5's graphics.

hey both look good, with GT5 obviously looking better, but the in-car view is just...ugly. Those screenshots you posted are a bit off from what the game truly looks like.

I think its impressive how slose it has come to that target render from about a year ago. One picture was a close up of the same orange car I think.

Edit: :lol: I post this message and what's the first thing I see? A barrage of Forza 3 screens and I think to myself: "Hmmmmm who could that be?" And low and behold its Bio just like I thought. Whats up with you people? A passionate fan posts some news and you guys have to turn it into a competition. I know this is system wars but this happens so often that posts like that have become pointless.

GT5 will look better than GT5p, and therefor it will be the best looking game on consoles. These are bullshots of course, they want to show of they're beautyfull car models:). And these car models are the same that will be used in-game with it's 400.000 polygons. Unlike Turn 10 who lied about the polygon count:P.

They use a higher polygon count for the car models in photo mode, while the in-game cars only has a little bit more polygons than Forza 2. Turn 10 promised 1080p and x10 the polygon count on the cars compared to Forza 2, which was all a lie.

but then ofcourse the higher polygon models in Forza 3 are still in the retail version, in exactly the same way as you just claimed these GT5 screens are in the retail version. I dont see how you can possibly mock Forza 3s gameplay graphics when you're doing exactly the same thing in defense of GT5.

but then ofcourse the higher polygon models in Forza 3 are still in the retail version, in exactly the same way as you just claimed these GT5 screens are in the retail version. I dont see how you can possibly mock Forza 3s gameplay graphics when you're doing exactly the same thing in defense of GT5.

What Turn 10 did was claim these 1 million polygon vehicles which weren't representative of what they are in-game. FM3 has 3 levels of car detail. Showroom, which uses tesselation to render those 1 million polys, a middle level, used for photomode and livery editor, and the low poly (around 90k poly) versions that are used in game. GT5 only has 1 set of models, which is what they use in game/race.

I expected a simplistic post from you that didn't address what I said and you didn't dissapoint. I also expected you to ask for special pleading on PD's belaf and you did not dissapoint.

What is there to address? Unless you have a crystal ball you have no idea what you said will be true. Pretty hard for me to conversate about things that have'nt happened yet now is'nt it? :) What pleading? I guess stating facts = "pleading" now. I was simply saying that I don't care enough about either game or even the genre to "plead".

Is it confirmed that GT5 cars will use the same poly count during game play as well as showroom/replay? Whats the chances of them trying the same stunt as Turn10?

Forza 3 do not have cars with 1.000000 polygons and the game does not run at 1080p native, both these features was promised by Turn 10. I'm just saying that these car models you see here is the same you will see in-game.

Seems like a waste of money to me, do people really expect $60m worth of extra game?

It's only what... three times the budget that Uncharted 2 apparently had? PS3 could have had three AAA titles for the price of this one game.

If GT5P is somewhat representative of how the game runs... then it will only be 1 model... I'm sure you can take GT5P with ATLEAST more than a grain of salt.
