Manic Miner was sooh good, but frustrating, in its day.
The first game I played was on a mate's home built kit computer. The game involved shooting objects falling from the top of the screen. I'm pretty sure the game didn't even have a name.
Alex Kidd back on the Sega Master System :DFrozenLiquidAhh that stirs the old memories !
The peddle helicopter FTW :)
First game was on the Apple IIC. Some green text text-based adventure called Cloud in the Sky or something. It was badass. I was 4, I believe. After that, SMB and Tetris. (And DUCK HUNT).Jandurin
i loved typing swearwords in too text adventures.
The real questions should be: What was the first game you played. What year did that occur?
I'm sensing some folks in here like to say they first played on the oldest systems but didn't do so until well after their reign.

this is the very first game I played-
Lunar Lander
I remember playing a lot of shareware we downloaded off of Bulletin Boards (anybody remember those?), with the original Duke Nukem standing out most. Also, Falcon 3.0 was another fantastic early game.SpaceMatt
I remember playing games on the BBSes. like LORD(Legend of the Green Dragon) and BRE (Baron Realms Elite)
it's hard to remember. either Oregon trail, Carmen Santiago or some obscure text based adventure game.OntainSantiago!
Sandiego. Remember the weird tv show that came out years later?
Oregon Trail and Tank Wars were amongst my first also.

Now that's a great ppoint. I did play oregon trail around the time NES came out. So, I guess that could be my first.
Another first I thought I'd mention was my first computer game. I say computer game because PC was not a widely used term then. My first game on computer was Kings Quest by Sierra.
Gyromite on NES. With the stupid NIntendo robot. Then my second game, I threw out the friggin' robot.The_CrucibleThats not my first game but it was my first NES game. My cousin use to crush me with the pillers, then he would laugh and say oops. Ya and the robot was about useless.
One of my first PC games was Age of Empires 1, but Im not sure what my very first game was since its been so long.
Hey I just checked the release date and if that really is one of my first PC games then that means Ive been PC gaming for 10 years in October.
Prolly SMB, or Duck Hunt, or Commander Keen(Anyone remember this one?)madmidnightI'm a huge Commander Keen fan(1-6 and dreams) one of my first PC games.

That looks like a game I knew as " Cannon Fodder " though I cant remember on what early system I played it on.It was a cool game though where you checked wind speed and trajectory and how many bags of gun powder to use to make the projectile land on the opponents cannon.

Sounds like Tank Wars.
Though, there were a few games like this out there. Also one called Scorched Earth which just wasn't as good.

[QUOTE="Jandurin"]Oh, and, that arcade game where you made hamburgers.The_Crucible
