1UP's Shane Bettenhausen : "A MS 1st Party Title is cancelled"

For those of you who listen to 1up's, 1UP Yours podacast you may have been surprised to hear on last week show that Shane has heard rumblings that "a big Microsoft first-party title that has been in the works for a very long time, that people are very excited for, sounds like it's being canceled".

I cannot find a direct link to this quote however it is referenced at the bottom of a Joystiq story which says that Banjo Kazooie is not the said 1st Party title.

Do you guys think it's bull? If not which game do you think it will be?

NB this isn't really important but Shane is a very knowledgable(sp) gamer who throughout the shows history has been known to show blatant support for the PS3, enough to have him branded a "cow" and a "fanboy". Yet i don't think this really affects the neutrality and level of truth in his statement

why, how did Halo 3 hurt you in anyway? Anyone who owns a 360 shouldnt wish halo games go away, they help sell consoles. Its going to be the peter jackson project that gets canned, isnt it obvious.

I'd go for "Peter Jackson's 'Halo' Project" since we still have no new information about it since it was announced like a year ago. Or maybe some other MS project that we've all forgotten about.

It said its been in the works a long time... that peter j movie was announced E3 :|
I could care less how many 360 sells, i don't play the sales of a console. But what i did finish completing was halo 3, a very mediocore game, which doesn't deserve half the hype it gets from 360 gamers. If it wasn't for co-op, Halo 3's SP would be unplayable.

I have a weird feeling its the new Crimson Sky game... I thought it would make an appearence at one of the conventions and it didn't... I think they're gonna can it....

Ensemble studios are making it...

It's been talked about. It was down to Banjo 3 and Peter Jackson's Halo, but Rare has come out and said that developement continues for Banjo 3 so it might be that Halo game.Ilived

That game is seriously vaporware. I have never even seen a shot of it.......I thought the "Peter Jackson Halo thingy" was a movie or something, not a game.

My guess is Alan "Vaporware" Wake, even if it's not 1st party.

PJ's Halo is probably a safe bet though, he has way too much on his plate, like 4 movies, to worry about a Halo game.

Banj Kazooie has already been confirmed, not to be the one.

Fable 2 has already been confirmed, not to be the one.

My guess is the Marvel MMORPG. Halo wars seemed to be doing pretty well from what we saw.

Also, Too Human isn't first party.
