I'm guessing PJ's project: A couple days ago it was mentioned that Peter Jackson had moved to another project while all the hoolabaloo with Halo, MS, the movie and it all got settled. I wouldn't be surprised if he simply not returned once he finished with whatever else he's doing.

Banjo has been in development since 2005 (confirmed by a Rare Employee who posts on pinata island's forum) and was announced a year later at X06.
