Are these numbers impressive if they're tied to a service?

I was finally able to complete the campaign and found it to be stellar. Multiplayer hasn't really captured my attention though, but that's some damn good player counts. Would be more interested in average daily player count.

why wouldn't they be impressive regardless of how the person played? See the tweet below regarding why how they played doesn't matter

Many people either pay for a trial for very cheap (like $1 for 3 months) or people like me who are getting it for free because they converted from Xbox Live.

If this is the level at which games success is to be rated from now on, Sony and Nintendo should include rentals of games from Gamefly, Redbox, etc as sales.

wow and the fact those are both live service games ms will be making bank for the dlc, battle pass, and microtransaction. people seem to forget that live service games make a ton of money and ms owns 6 currently and getting 3 more when their deal goes thru.

somehow Game Pass is both free and not free depending on the cow narrative of the day.. Strangely, the concept of Microsoft gladly accepting a one-time $60 purchase and/or a $10~$15 monthly fee is really confusing for these mathematicians..

but admittedly, in this case, Halo Infinite's multiplayer is indeed Free-to-Play.. but even with that said, i guess these math professors don't think games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Warzone make any money since they're Free-to-Play as well.. hint: they all make tons of money..

not that any of this matters for the end-user.. ultimately this just means that Halo Infinite has a healthy online community for gamers to engage with.. and on that front, these are impressive numbers.. congrats to 343..

Not sure about FH5 but on Halo: Infinite side. Seeing as its F2P and on PC to add, its not surprising those numbers alone make it impressive for Halo. If it can actually keep those players playing the game longer enough will be more impressive to see. I'm still playing the game, it’s good but 343 really need to get some new MP maps out though.

Well well well... I remember how some people said this wouldnt sell well. While this doesnt mean that the game sold well, such a metric doesnt really work for MS anymore. As they are more about providing a gamepass service these days. Why buy Halo when you can get it on Gamepass, alongside many other games as well?

Game did exceptionally well. And the cows and naysayers reactions in this thread are amusing.

This game is bigger and more relevant to gaming than 90% of PoS4 and 5. I wonder what its numbers will be after a year?

The game has a reasonably high skill ceiling, so I doubt the game will die.
