@silentchief: lol… if you think a future acquisition of COD is alI i’m referring to, you must really have been living under a rock…..Lems have been living the life of Riley since launch.
Lol with what games? Halo and Forza?
Goodness no. Being happy with a console choice is about so much more than just games.
It’ll be a rather long response, but for me there’s so many reasons why Xbox has had a better launch and start than Ps5.
Xbox have been they’re own worst enemy in the past, and many Cows here were confident that MS would pull the plug if and when problems arose again….maybe Sony thought that too.
Pre-launch, MS promised to target games. On that front Halo and Forza have been swallowed up by gamers as the figures here show. On top of that there’s been the acquisitions of not only Activision but also Zenimax.
They also pushed their commitment to BC, promised upgrades to last gen MS games would be free and kept to their word as with Hivebusters, the Gears DLC. They spoke about improvements to Gamepass and increased the amount of games available to nearly 400 and included day 1 3rd party releases, cross gen compatible controllers and improvements and expansions to Xcloud.
Sony told us they believe in generations. That games made for the ps5 couldn’t be done on PS4. That changed almost instantly. They spoke about the wondrous SSD, and how next gen it was. It’s since shown there’s hardly any difference in some cases and the reverse in some. They tried to charge for upgrades of PS4 games, then had to swallow pride and reverse the decision for launch games. Worse, they announced HZD as a launch game, then tried to charge for the upgrade when it was delayed because it was no longer a launch title. All future games will cost 10 bucks to upgrade. They’ve raised the prices of 1st party games - charging $70 for Returnal even surprised the Devs who had created budget games until then.
MS have launched a smaller, more powerful, quieter, better looking console that has a game plan going forward. Sony launched the PS5 with the same strategy (1st party exclusives) at a higher price….but by putting those games on PC, pulling PSNow and promising an answer to Gamepass it looks like they’re already in full damage control as they try to figure out how to answer “All they got”.
