Stopped watching after that, huge immersion breaker for a genre that is soley made for the purpose of immersion.
Ok, that video killed my hype for the game a little bit :( That looked so boringnavyguy21
I guess different people have different tastes then.
I thought it looked kinda like a zombie version of the early levels in a Doom game, with more and more zombies appearing as the level progressed.
Hard to fully explain but that's what I thought of when I watched that video.
I'd love to play a game that's something like a modern version of Doom but with zombies.
Too bad it doesn't look anything like that fancy trailer. Typical of Ubisoft for a Nintendo console launch.
Red Steel, anyone?

I think some people aren't getting quite how this works. Most people that have actually played the game have reported that the way this is integrated is actually one of the coolest things about it and that it really adds to the tension as you try to rummage around your rucksack, represented on the Wii U screen, while seeing zombies heading towards you on the main TV screen. There's also the obvious stuff like pointing and moving the controller in front of you while looking at the screen for scope based weapons and things like scanners etc. I think it sounds like it could be a very cool feature.[QUOTE="crimsonman1245"][QUOTE="Chris_Williams"]

They can do what dead space (and alot of survival horror titles )does and allow the person to access the inventory while in-game all while looking at 1 screen. I still reserve judgment till I actually have some hands on times with the wii-u but right now it looks like it just complicates things and add's a unnecessary second screen.Could be good, i like the atmosphere (can't be appreciate in the video) and if they maintain a good peace through game, this could be a true horror game, sadly other elements look meh, the shooting mechanics don't seem to be a lot of fun according to some reports and i'm afraid the whole survival kit can be wat too gimmicky, still, it looks like a decent game for an early effort.
I guess sheep are really desperate for generic fps zombie games.Androvinus
That's just a bull**** cop out.
It might not be the next big thing but this actually looks like a cool game.
Give some credit where it due man.
Being a douche isn't cool.

Are you freaking kidding me? the feeling of having to pay attention to 2 screens at the same time can be pretty well implemented for some extemely good tense moments, add the fact that the main mechanic of the game is that one bite and you are dead and you will have an extremely tense and scary game, i can imagine being chased by zombies and trying to find the right stuff to use instead of...oh Enemies, oh well, pause, select weapon, select medpack, ok i'm ready. Personally i really hope this game can give us a taste of that sort of tension, so far its looking interesting, lets see if it delivers.

I think that's the point.
If you're looking on screen, looking at the zombies they will never be scary. The idea here is that you aren't looking at the TV screen at all times, therefore the Zombies can actually surprise you.
The concept of two screens would work out amazing in Silent Hill if designed around it.

While I fully agree with you, this is system wars, this place doesn't know nice. Think about it; people posting on system wars are looking to bash whatever isn't on their agenda to say good things about, whether that be fair or unfair.
Personally, I like it, the two screens will add emotion to this game that has really become kind of lacking recently in most games.

They both look like garbage to me. Just because you get to look down at a screen in your hands and interact with the game doesnt make it the most unique thing ever.Yes I agree L4D is about as generic as can be. But L4D got it right on the first try and it got it right 4 years ago.Not sure what people are expecting but it looks pretty fun to me. It's no more generic looking than L4D and lots of people seem to love that game. The controller probably makes this game much more exciting though.

RE4, L4D, Dead Island, Dead Space, Doom, Alone in the Dark. Etc. The list goes on. Its a game where you look for keys and shoot monsters in the dark. But at least those games had unique settings or stories(save for l4d). Its not unique in that regard. I'm not saying its a bad game either. Though it looks like one to me. I'm saying its generic.I think I want this game more now. Slow moving pace, very tense and great looking atmosphere, and if Zombies spawn randomly or something, that will add to replay value. I love how the time is still progressing when moving through your bags, and how the second screen becomes a "focal point" when rummaging or sniping and other uses." You have to always be aware of your surroundings, so having the player's attention away from the main screen cause they are now putting their attention into their item bag, down the scope of a weapon, etc. makes it more tense. When the guy was lock picking and the Zombie's body moved, I got tense, thinking "Oh crap! It's going to get him!" That would make for some sure tense moments. yoshi_64You understand it well. And the sound is pretty scary. I think the person was wearing headphones cause he got scared a lot? Having only one life increases the tension as well. This game is a rogue-like zombie game. That has never been done before (I think). Pretty unique and when you think about it, roguelike tension and survival horror go hand in hand.
It looks great to me. The WiiU needs games like this. I doubt it will be a super high end title but not every game has to be the next big franchise.
The WiiU gamepad integration does make this game a unique experience. It will not subtract from the realism and immersion, only add to it. I would love to try it.
also I like:
-slow moving zombies are better for genuine horror and tension rather than fast zombies which are better suited for action
-simplistic plot with few cinematics and QTEs. Again, this is better to make an authentic immersive experience
So for sure, this game is a much humbler, simpler, more primal horror experience than complex and over-produced titles like RE6 and DS3
Absolutely retarded. Switching to the tablet every two seconds.......Fizzman... would be an easy thing to do and subtract for the game in no way whatsoever.
This game just looks better and better, and I don't normally like these kinds of games. It is just that it looks really neat and refreshing to play. As for it being generic I couldn't disagree more, considering when Ubisoft showed that still-photo trailer the first thing I said was, "Oh, Look another zombie game.", and now it has me hooked I will buy this game one way or another, it looks scary, not jump-out-and-startle-you scary, it looks tense and crazy. The screen use seems to be incredibly well done, and that is what makes it tense and scary, along with atmosphere.
Oh, and I've seen Left for Dead and Dead Island, etc. how does this look anything like those?

They both look like garbage to me. Just because you get to look down at a screen in your hands and interact with the game doesnt make it the most unique thing ever. You just explained why it does make it unique. When you're looking at your bug out bag or unlocking a door you're not looking at what's goung on around you. Do you loot or secure the immediate area first? but even then you can still get jumped. Kinda realistic.i like how when the last of us was first announced everyone was up in arms about it being a generic zombie game and how were tired of them, and now nintendo is getting what seems to be the most generic zombie game of all time and sheep are eating it up.
well, its a bad video since we cant see the Wii U controller, so its even more annoying the message "look at the controller"
