In the end, anyone who uses the number itself to brag about how "good" of a gamer they are need to learn what the meaning of "achievements" really are, adding replay value.
Hm...levels or random points assigned for each accomplishments? I choose levels, but in the end, they both are the same. I'm just more fond of a level system.
After reading about all the details about trophies and how it is supposed to be implemented (with the leveling up feature) I actually like Trophies better. HOWEVER, the fact that Trophies weren't there from the start really hurts the whole concept. If Sony really keeps the PS3 around for 10 years maybe it won't be so bad that the first 2 years of it's library don't support trophies (for the most part).
Good luck getting 20 platinum trophies,i don't even think they have enough support yet so that's auto lose. But yeah the fact trophies aren'tuniversal means they'll never touch achievements although tbh, idon'tdo it forthe points just the challlenge.

I would say the Platinum Trophhies because you have to unlock all trophies in a game to get it. Where Achievements you could just play lost of games and never unlock all of them like me. I have 17k and only got all achievements in like 2 games.
IMO, 20 Trophies sounds better. I have 7300 gamerpoints and I'm working on my first trophy (Uncharted)

Why are you comparing Trophies to Gamerscores? You should compare Trophies to Achievement's. Achievment's are the exact same as a trophy, but with gamerscore you get an extra layer to the trophy system so each achievement has a different wieght behind it since the harder it is the more gamerscore you get.
So at the base Trophies = Achievements, but Achievements have an extra layer to them.
