2006 Gears, 2007 Halo 3, 2008 Gears 2, 2009 Halo Reach, 2010 Gears 3..

i think both 360 & PS3 offered some great new IP's so i really dont understand this nonsense of listing them all in order to see which console has more...

Also there is nothing wrong with MS 'focusing' on 2 franchises like Halo & Gears considering how much they sell and the large no. of fans these games have...Am sure many PS3 fans out there dont mind an Uncharted 3&4, GOW 4&5, KZ 3&4 etc etc coming out on PS3 this gen because great games are always welcome..

So while its always nice and refreshing seeing new IPs being released its also nice seeing sequels to great series of games being released too :)

Yes I think it's worth bearing in mind that Microsoft can't be blamed for creating sequals when their predecessors are so damn popular. Any other company would have done the same thing and I doubt Microsoft really mind the Xbox's reputation as "the shooter console" these days even if though that's not something I really go for.

exactly.. its like asking Nintendo to stop releasing games for Mario / Zelda etc... in reality as much as we (incl myself) talk about wanting new original IPs, in the end most of us (millions) rush out buying sequels to game series such as Mario, Halo, Gran Turismo, FF, MGS, Zelda, Geow etc etc even though these franchises have been around for years...

why should this bother us, if each sequel offers a great story, improved gameplay,visuals, maybe better online etc etc its surely a good thing for us gamers as long as quality for such sequels keeps getting better :)

Anyone else notice this pattern by MS.. why is MS so afraid to take risks with new IPs this gen? I mean sure every now and then you will see a Alan Wake which is a new IP, but overall MS seems to have this pattern to play it safe each year and dont take risks.. With sony you have established IPs but a slew of new IPs this gen as well.. Im sure MS will announce a couple new IPs but overall there is no denying that if you want variety in your gaming including hardcore type games like the 360 has, PS3 is the way to go.
