I don't go by scores or sales fanboy. I go by my opinion of my actual hands on experience with the games I speak about. Saying one game trumps an entire line-up is ridiculous because your kind was saying the opposite when Cows said that about MGS4 remember.

Well LBP trumps everything but Spore j/k... but IU does trump the PS3 this year because it has no real JRPG's coming out.

Analysts will look back into this generation and see that 2008 is the turning point of the console war between PS3 and Xbox 360. It's a year when a warrior realizes its time has passed. No longer is Xbox 360 the best console. Not for casuals. Not for the hard core. Not for exclusives games. Not for multiplatform games. Not for best graphics. Not for best sound.

2008 is the year when:

1) Multiplats are now better on the PS3. The big multiplats this year: Burnout Paradise, Devil May Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Soul Caliber 4, Bioshock, Eternal Sonata. Red the reviews and previews on these games. Overall, it's clear that multiplats are better on the PS3 in 2008.

Sould Calibur (not "Caliber"), plays (and looks) exactly the same on both. As 1UP, Gamespot and IGN said, the only difference is Yoda vs Vader. GTA IV? Gamespot days: "However, saved games take equivalent periods of time to load on both machines. If we had to definitively pick a version, we'd go with the 360's rendition of the game for its crisper visuals"

Bioshock and Etrnal Sonata are not out yet, and, even if they "look and play better", the PS3 is getting them 1 year later. "just wait" in its most.

Most of those games are not even out yet, so ... not valid argument ("just wait"?). Games that are coming to the 360: Gears 2, Banjo, Halo Wars, The Last Remnant (timed exclusive), Infinite Undescover, Star Ocean, Fable 2, Too Human, and tons of great multiplats like RE5, Fallout 3 (with exclusive downloadable content) and... FFXIII.

3) LIVE is now NOT that much better than PSN. In fact, it can be argued that when 2008 is over, PSN is better than LIVE, which costs $50 a year. LIVE's 2 major advantages are gone: PSN now has in-game XMB and Trophies, which IGN expects to be better than Achievements. While PSN catches up with LIVE in some areas, it surpasses LIVE in other areas: multiplayer size (Resistance 2), sharing game contents among gamers, dedicated servers, web browsing, Youtube support, and HOME. All free.

Live is still better. Add to that Netfix... Besides, how many games support trophies? 5? Vs ALL 360 games that have achievements it is still a disadvantage.

4) Xbox 360's hardware becomes a liability, and I m not talking about RROD, either. Xbox 360 cannot play Blu-ray movies. It's use of DVD9 is starting to get major complaints, even from Id's Carmack. It's lack of standard HDD, makes games run less smooth, a major reason why multiplats look or play better on the PS3.

Yes, but still a grat looking games like Gears 2 (that looks better than 99%of PS3 games) is coming out. And, as I proved (Gamespot comparission), multiplats look slighty better on the 360.

5) Xbox 360's monthly sales are the worst among all major consoles in all major territories. Do a little research, and you will agree.

Yes, and? It still selling well, only surpassed in average by 30-40 k per month by the PS3. Not that big difference.

Thus, 2008 brings in something really sad: The overwhelming perception that Xbox 360's glory days are over. Just as most people are now accepting that Xbox 360 will lose the console war, they will soon enough accept that Xbox 360 will not have the biggest and most advanced games as well.

It's tough to win the war when your guns (hardware) are weaker and you are losing battles (monthly sales) all over the world.

Well, the Wii has the weakest hardware, and it still kicks both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, so I don't think that really matters.

I've said before I like Gears of War, but I consider that to be a co-op interest game; I probably would never play it alone. Therefor, my friend owning a 360 is good enough for me.

Gamewise I don't think 360 will have better games compared to last year and saleswise I don't see 360 beating last years WW sales. Last year was weak for PS3 but it still managed to outsell the 360 WW and this year I'm quite certain it will do so too with heavy hitters like MGS4 which is already out and LBP, R2, Socom, Motorstorm 2 which are all coming this fall. The month Halo 3 came out (september) the 360 outsold even the Wii, so you can bet that Gears 2 will move some units.
