Assassin's Creed 2. You'd think Ubisoft would have learned the hype game by not hyping up too much their creations with the original AC. But they stepped up their marketing and hype with AC2, promising its fans that this time around, AC2 WILL deliver on the promises its predecessor failed to address. And it did. To raving reviews, gamerankings and metacritic aside.
Batman: Arkham Asylum. I honestly wasn't expecting it to be that good and I only have it because someone bought it for me as a birthday present. Not only do I consider it to have delivered completely, but I also consider it to be the best game ever based on a license. (KOTOR and Goldeneye included)
For me it had to be Arkham Asylum (also my game of the year) because as soon as I saw the game, I had no reservations on how good the game was going to be and gladly, it delivered. Another game that delivered for me was Cod: MW2 just because I expected a short contrived campaign and a fun filled online experience that will last me well into next year.
