I've been having an xbox 360 ( Jasper ) for almost 1 year now and it's super reliable. so I guess, good work Microsoft with fixing this unfortunate problem, although it was a shame that it happened in the first place.

Oh great, a 360 surviving for 1 year makes it "super reliable" now.
I'l stick to sony's standards thank you very much. Got a release PS1, PS2 and PS3 and all 3 still work fine to this day (PS1 skips a bit during movies)hot114
i curse you with the YLOD haha!
[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"]The Xbox 360 should have been reliable and durable to begin with.Racer850I think we all know this, The point is it's safer to jump in :P
It's been said numerous times now that the Xbox 360's deficiencies have been fixed. I'll take this with a grain of salt.

did TC say anything about not sticking to a ps3? as far as I remember ps2 wasn't this reliable console either, so let's not talk nonsense here. Jaspers have proven to be pretty reliable, get over it.
you discovered warm water! :O electronic stuff that can break? woah that's really a news!Believe it or not, my cousin's 360 got RROD today. He got it about 4 months ago, btw.
The RROD is still a problem, it's just not as prominent as it once was.

My 2007 360 died last month, I hope it's fixed and that Microsoft put the new parts into my console.
I think the 30 million people who have a ticking time bomb as console disagree with TC...and also the let's say 8 million people (I even underestimated) whose console had died on them at least once disagree.
Apply pre-emptive euthenasia on your xbox360...imagine you were a 360 and you got RROD or E74 error...that's like a coma.

Lol! I bought a 60 gig PS3 a few weeks ago, dead out of the box after it was apparently refurbished from Sony.... Awesome.
My original fat PS2 got the disk read error and I had to buy a slim PS2.
My original Playstation is sometimes picky about playing games and takes a few tries to get it to play.
My first 360 was bricked by the NXE update.
My second 360 (I bought a new one for the HDMI cord and sent the other off to Microsoft) has been going strong for almost 2 years now without so much as a single freeze.
My original 360 still works just fine as well.
My original Xbox that I bought used from EB Games still works just fine and has yet to give me a single issue.
None of my Nintendo consoles (NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy color, Gameboy Advance, DS original, Nintendo 60, Gamecube, and Wii) have ever given me any problems and all still work fine today.
I'm going with Nintendo here in terms of hardware.
Everyone experiences different things with game consoles. Your experiences aren't the end all experience here.

I never knew that an electronic device of any kind could ever break until now! >_>Believe it or not, my cousin's 360 got RROD today. He got it about 4 months ago, btw.

yeah i think, but i heard the main problem for jasper types right now are power fluctuation. other than that i havent heard any problems so far.
I think people stoped complaining they know MS cant fix the problem. i know my friends x360. died when he had his b-day party i got him 2 games Forza and fifa well i asked him lets play some fifa and he said maybe next week i said why he said waitin for MS to send his x360 back thats 3rd time his x360 died well 1st time his new x360 died he got it maybe a year ago he just didnt care anymore
2009: The Year "Red Ring of Death" got a lot better, but wasn't completely eliminated, and also saw and increase of E74 errors, and many people still complained.

Why not buy one and try it out? You have a 3 year warranty so you have nothing to lose and maybe your narrow minddedness will be less narrow minded[QUOTE="Shirokishi_"]
Ive had my launch 360 (wich I bought from a friend) since '07. I win.

YEAAAAH!

if at first you dont succeed. Wait 4 years.
PtothaWHAT
Kinda like the PS3 did with games?
Yeah since the PS3 has been out for 4 years :roll:Good work? It might have been good work if the problem had been fixed after they firgured it out during the design stages, or even in late 2006 or early 2007, but fixing a major problem 2-3 years after it is discovered is terrible work.

well the ps3 hasent been out 4 years. But honestly games like uncharted, r&C, heavenly sword, resistance, folklore, and warhawk kept ps3 alive with good games in 2007. 2008 ps3 jumped (devs needed time to make games) with games making the year comparable to 360s. And its clear ps3 won this year.
Yeah, they seem to have overcome the RROD problems while at the same time E74 is becoming more and more of an issue, LOL. :D Super reliable!
would you stop lying and/or talking nonsense?
Failure reate is now under 4% rate, as every friggin electronic device. So, pleaase cows, get a cup of camomile tea and relax.

there's no such thing as indestructible pieces of hardware. my Jasper has been working perfectly, so they did find a solution. OF COURSE you crazy people have to understand that finding a solution doesn't mean making them immortal!
dear cows, just shut up:
"SquareTrade found that Xbox 360 quality has improved dramatically since the third quarter of 2008, shortly before the 65nm CPU/GPU "Jasper" model was introduced. Since then, first-year failure rates have plummeted to below the 4 percent the company projected. Looking at 500 units purchased in 2009, SquareTrade found that less than 1 percent had suffered the Red Ring of Death."
Jaspers are very reliable. I know mine never even gets warm and I play it a lot. they fixed the problem.
get over it, cows.
how many times does this have to be quoted before the cows get it into there head that the RROD is now below acceptable industry standards, pain in the butt that it took MS this long, but it's all good now, we can stop living in the past and move on, the PS3 has good games, the 360 has become reliable, the world is right againdear cows, just shut up:
