[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"][QUOTE="Racer850"] I think we all know this, The point is it's safer to jump in :P93soccer
It's been said numerous times now that the Xbox 360's deficiencies have been fixed. I'll take this with a grain of salt.

Why not buy one and try it out? You have a 3 year warranty so you have nothing to lose and maybe your narrow minddedness will be less narrow minded

There is nothing narrow minded about not wishing to invest in a faulty product that has supposedly been fixed now, the 3 year warranty simply serving to highlight how severe these problems have to be. I don't wish to go through the hassle for I am not a fool that knowingly buys unreliable products. My friends who own Xbox 360s have had RRoDs so I let them play around with the problem while I play with them whenever the issue is fixed. I'll let my friends be the suckers since they so chose to be.

Jasper is great, as for people saying my/my friend's new 360 got RROD. We will still see RRODs as there is still a failure rate on #1 all console models and #2 it has a failure rate similar to the YLOD, so we will see it as often

My friends and I mess with one another all the time. They call me a snob for having money and I call them idiots for throwing their money away whenever they have some. No biggie.

Well my 360 has broken down 3 times the third was this year so maybe your "lucky" but to be honest with you I see a lot of people making threads like this and it makes me sick... "I haven't been in jail, YOUR NOT SUPPOSE TO! ... you low expectation m***** f******" to quote Chris Rock. Really the 360's reliability has put a clamp on getting their next console within the first year of its release.

I've been having an xbox 360 ( Jasper ) for almost 1 year now and it's super reliable. so I guess, good work Microsoft with fixing this unfortunate problem, although it was a shame that it happened in the first place.

My co-worker's nephews just got a 360 4 weeks ago, it died on week 2 and ms is giving them the run-around for getting it fixed(yet their dad's work gave them a free pw3 for christmas, so its all good). My friends died 4 months ago , after getting it in January.. the 360 is hardly improved. So "yours" lasting a year is proof? since when does one persons 360 not failing mean squat? There are launch models still working.. My co-worker has had his since 2006 and it still works (granted he is a casual console gamer and spends most of his time on wow.) There are others who still have working 360s, your claim means nothing, your just 1 person, just like the people i just talked about, but when you add all those people up who have problems that's where the issue is.

Great here comes the master of the made up 'my friends and relative' stories. Sure we all believe your stories  So exactly when do your made up stories mean anything?

dear cows, just shut up:

"SquareTrade found that Xbox 360 quality has improved dramatically since the third quarter of 2008, shortly before the 65nm CPU/GPU "Jasper" model was introduced. Since then, first-year failure rates have plummeted to below the 4 percent the company projected. Looking at 500 units purchased in 2009, SquareTrade found that less than 1 percent had suffered the Red Ring of Death."

wirey87
Dear lem, you're wrong. That study focused on first year failures and didn't include people who used MS warranty directly instead of going through SquareTrade. They even said that. Of course, selectively quoting them serves your purpose.

Lemmings just got served. Suppose the Jasper really is reliable...the now broken xbox360's don't get Jasper built in when repairing do they? So you'll always have the RROD, always have people complaining etc. Fortunate for those who bought a Jasper...but they're not even a quarter of all 360 users. Saying that only a really small fraction of the 360's are reliable...doesn't mean the overall the 360 qualitiy has improved since it's a small fraction of the total.

Oh selective reading, you mean how you Cows supported the 54% failure rate based on a GI poll and then cling to everyone elses made up RROD stories?

There we go, when all else fails, just speculate. Your PSN id in your sig pretty much invalidates any attempted argument you have...

Errm... old? And people still seem to be wilfully oblivious to that study only showing that the Wii can safely be said to have a failure rate within industry standard, which if I remember right is between 3-5%.

(Although I don't know if that "standard" is meant to be a 1-year failure rate or not... if so the PS3 *might* be within the industry standard. Might.)

so what is the failure rate?, you tell us, you seem to be such an expert on it,do you have evidence that proves square trade wrong? i don't think so,surveys like this one are proof of nothing, every article about RROD percentages is just pure speculation there is no proof, so how are lems wrong, put up and PROVE the lems a wrong, show us some REAL proof of RROD failure rates.
