2010 a disapointing year?

It's just the System Wars metagame...

Had a look through the GS review scores for the year, interesting reading.

360) AAA: 10 AA: 26 A: 27

PS3) AAA: 8 AA: 26 A: 22

PC) AAA: 4 AA: 28 A: 17

Wii) AAAA: 1 AAA: 0 AA: 13 A:15

So actually a pretty good year for games, unless you only own a Wii of course in which case every year is a bad year so it's not like sheep will be disappointed.

2010 was great! A lot of great games like Halo: Reach, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake, Dantes Inferno, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep,...

Plus: Ghost of Sparta and GT5 still coming up!

This year being "A bad year for gaming" solely depends on what consoles/systems you have. As for me, 2010 have been a tremendous year for me.

Haven't played Castlevania or Red Dead yet but So far ever game I've played that game out on the Year 2010 I've been pleased with.

If anyone has played Super Meat Boy then they know with that game alone 2010 has been a stellar year.

Just this Year alone we have Bayonetta, Heavy Rain, GoW 3, Starcraft 2, Civ 5, Alan Wake, SMG2, Halo: Reach, Cataclysm, Vanquish, Amnesia, Rock Band 3, Super Meatboy, Limbo, Red Dead Redemption, BC2, ME2, Epic Yarn, Other M. Hopefully we'll have GT5 by end of the year but I won't hold my breath.

Probably a lot more games but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

I'd say it's been a pretty damn good year for gaming. Probably one of the best ever honestly.

ME2 and Halo Reach alone make it a good year.

I'm glad almost everyone in this thread has enjoyed this year overall, I know I thought it was great. Too bad the holiday lineup is lacking.

This year was front loaded. There were a ton of great games early in the year, but the latter half has been pretty mediocre. Fortunately, there are still a lot of games from the previous years that I never played.

It may not be as good as some other years, but come on, it has not been a bad year. Did you guys just start gaming? Remember 2003? This is no where near bad.

For the people who think that 2010 was disappointing, I'm sorry but you're obviously not very serious about gaming and SMG2, Reach, SC2, and GOW3 all came here to say that they would all appreciate it if you just stopped trying.

This year was awesome.

There were so many good games I was able to play this year.

• Bayonetta (which surprised me)
• Red Dead Redemption
• Super Street Fighter 4 (was annoyed that it wasn't a update for SF4 but still fun game)
• Starcraft 2
• Halo Reach
• Alan Wake
• Dead Rising 2

If you look at GS list of games that came out this year there are tons of AAA and AA games that came out for all systems.

God of War III and Final Fantasy XIII came along with some other great games. It wasn't disappointing. It's just not the best year in gaming ever. majadamus

Yes, and also Halo:Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released soon. So no this year is not bad in my eyes.

The only thing I found disappointing about 2010 was Bioshock 2. Man how I wanted that game to be as good as the first. I never had a high expectation for FF13, and so far everything else I have played has been really good.

I've probably pre-ordered more games this year than any other I can remember so I'd say 2010 has been good so far. Of course I don't let someone's scoring a game .5 under the hype effect my decision to purchase it either.

This was grandly the most hyped year in a while, honestly at the end of '09 it seemed there'd be AAA games all year... there wasn't.
