2011 Year of the WRPG's.

Isn't this truly the year of the rpg's?

Indeed it is going to be a great year for RPGs, sadly enough I don't think we will get to play quite a few of those games(ME3, Diablo III, Guild Wars 2).

I think we just found out why I have little interest in this years's lineup. :P

There are also some fantastic looking portable rpgs!

Radiant Historia, Ys 1&2, Tactics Ogre, FF4, Trails in the Sky, DragonQuest 6, Pokemon, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Paper Mario, Jikandia, Valkyria Chronicles 3(?).

Oh come on! Don't forget POKEMON BLACK AND WHITE!!! :D

Unless I´m missing something it does seem that as far as the "big" RPG´s coming out this year,the huge majority sees to be WRPG´s.

FF13 and F14 made me biased. It's the proof that JRPGS never will change. But Demons Soul's was **** amazing however.Robbazking

Well let´s be realistic here luxen,what big name and expected to be AAA JRPG´s are coming in 2011 besides Dark Souls? Is FFvs XIII coming in 2011?

Maybe there´s some handheld ones though about those I wouldn´t know. :oops:

Without a doubt this is going to be the best year I've ever experienced for RPGs :D :D

So many in fact, I won't have the time or budget to play them all as they come out. DA2 and ME3 are the definite Day1 buys from me, then Deus Ex 3, Witcher 2 (if it comes to consoles) Skyrim, and DS3 to follow when I'm through with them.

Won't be getting any of the MMO's.

Hmmm,I´ll check out TO. It´s not that I was relying just on big budget RPG´s,but if youb take a look at the threads and the hype around any RPG´s in the past few months and about upcoming ones I barely see any mention of any JRPG(unless it´s finalstar with all those obscure JRPG´s :P ),and on the other hand there´s plenty of WRPG´s so that´s why I made that assumption. To be honest,I dont´really fololow JRPG´s that much anymore,unless it´s a new Persona game or anactual great FF title,that is. Or something that might surprise me positively,though I haven´t seen that happening for awhile as far as JRPG´s are concerned.Arach666

Looking at that list again I think about how this is really the year of EVERYTHING lol....except maybe platforming :P. That was last year with SMG2, DKCR, Kirby, and more.

Must buys for me: Skyrim, The Witcher 2, Dungeon Siege 3 (360), Diablo 3. This year is rough on the wallet, that's for sure.

Best year since about 2001 to be an RPG fan.

Well it a great year for RPGs that for sure especially on handhelds. I am loving Radiant Historia now.

Well now you have, also I suggest you look more into JRPGs before dismissing them. Saying all JRPGs are the same because of one series is obviously the "wrong" thing to do.

Ignoring the JRPG aspect of things you should have Age of Decendence in your thread if you like WRPGs, gonna be better than everything on that list ;).
