Let me run down a list of a few games that are in my head...
Just a couple.
This is no 2008. Hell, this could be another 2007.
Yeah so far...
By the end it will be considered one of the best. The amount of great games that are coming out . Pity some were pushed back though until 2013
[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"]No. 2010 was worse.DarkLink77wut. All a matter of preference I suppose. I never did play Red Dead and I don't care about Starcraft.
I've been playing Kingdoms of Amalur, ME3, and Xenoblade this year so far and have zero complaints about this year being "weak". Especially with games like Diablo III, The Last Story, Darksiders II, Torchlight II, Guild Wars 2, ACIII, etc coming out also. I'm more then content with this years lineup and especially since I have a backlog as well to tide me over.
2012 has been amazing so far for me, and it will only continue to get better.
See Wasdie's list for reference.

Halo 4, Assassin's Creed 3, Max Payne 3 and GTAV are some of the good games I'll be playing this year.
If GTAV releases this year, which is a big if.Halo 4, Assassin's Creed 3, Max Payne 3 and GTAV are some of the good games I'll be playing this year.

Looking back, I think the only truly great games that year for me were Galaxy 2, Meat Boy, Amnesia, and Picross 3D. There were some other solid games, but it was a bit of an off year.

Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.
I enjoyed ME2, SMG2, Reach, StarCraft II, Read Dead, God of War III, the list goes on.
The best times was when GTA IV and Fallout 3 came out.
After that its been weak.
Deus Ex HR livened things up for a couple days.
I'm not impressed with 2012.
The highlight of my year was Saints Row 3 and it wasn't that great.
Skyrim definitely made a splash, but after a while you notice it was almost as boring as Oblivion. It made me swear off Elder Scrolls because I just can't seem to finish those games for the life of me.
Still haven't played ME3 yet.
I'm expecting a 10 hour "cinematic" with nice cutscenes, aka "pretty bullschit."

OK, OK, take it off the list, still there are good games to enjoy until GTAV releases. Are you both happy now?:x

I enjoyed ME2.
Linear and cinematic.

A release date was never even announced.
Having said that, it's not logical at all to release GTA V this year, some people seem to forget that Max Payne 3 exists.
Yeah, this year blows like '08 and '09. I'll probably eventually get ME3 in the fall, but there are no must buys for me this year.
Final Fantasy 13-2 is my favorite game so far, Mass Effect 3 was a disappointment, Kingdoms of Amalur was a nice surpise.
Twisted Metal, Binary Domain, Darkness 2, Asura's Wrath, Syndicate were all fun to play.
Still have lots of super awesome looking games coming out later this year.
I largely agree, though I imagine for different reasons. :PI'm actually enjoying this year more than last year, last year was pretty poor besides a few games.

2008 was so bad, it only had games like God of War: Chains of Olympus, Ninja Gaiden DS, Crisis Core, TWEWY, Grand Theft Auto IV, MGS4, No More Heroes, Persona 4, Mirror's Edge, and Valkyria Chronicles.
Man, 2012 is bad too. All we get is Journey, Mass Effect 3, Xenoblade Chronicles, The Witcher 2 EE, Max Payne 3, Diablo 3, Darksiders 2, Guild Wars 2, Halo 4, AC3, BioShock: Infinite, Borderlands 2, Sly 4, Tomb Raider, CS: GO, and maybe GTA 5 and Heart of the Swarm.
Worst years ever for gaming.
2008 was fairly bone dry until the summer when MGS4 and Bad Company came out. Then had a strong fall. 2012 is doing the same other than ME3. If you got a Vita that helps a bit. Gravity Rush coming out in June is one of my top anticipated games. Diablo 3, Starhawk and Ghost Recon come out this month. The fall looks strong, but overall its been quiet so far. PS Store updates have been lame for weeks with no real demos of note. I've been mostly replaying old games and spending time on DCUO which turns out to be a solid game...needs more endgame content though. Anyone else agree?-ArchAngeL-777-what do you expect the gen is basically over.
for there to be a launch lineup for nextbox and ps4 games had to have started development last year.
But why?DarkLink77Why not? I wasn't aware I had to justify where I purchase my games... but okay...

I hated MGS4, one of the worst games of all time iMO, i was laughing at the terrible low resolution graphics, the empty tiny environments, the crawling and boring shooting, everything felt like a bad joke TBH in this "game"
But 2008 was stuffed with amazing titles, i guess you did not have a xbox 360 at the time, because some of my very best games of all time came in 2008
Fable 2
The Last Remnant
Tales of Vesperia
Lost Odyssey
Fallout 3
Gears of War 2
Culdcept Saga
Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements
Ninja Gaiden II
Infinite Undiscovery
Viva Pinata 2
Warhammer: Battle March
Dead Space
Far Cry 2
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3
Mirror's Edge
Left 4 Dead
Naruto: The Broken Bond
Tomb Raider: Underworld
Prince of Persia
.
If you have a xbox 360, you always have infinite amazing games to play
.
2012 is no different
.
Witcher 2 Enchanced best lighting, controls EDITION
Mass Effect 3 KINECT EXCLUSIVE EDITION
Fable Journey
Halo 4
Dust Elysian Tale
Skyrim expansions
Steel Batallion
Crimson Dragon
Haunt
Deadlight
Trials Evolution
Ryse(Crytek)
Battleblock Theater
Hybrid
Sine Mora
Forza Horizon
Wreckateer
Minecraft
.
etc
As always, xbox 360 has more amazing games than a human beeing can possibly handle in a single year
Obviously with a PS3 every year is a disaster, the longer game on PS3 is the now obsolete DemonS Souls, everything else is a casual 5 hour rent affair
It is understandable to have a terrible 2008 and 2012 with PS3, it has no games

You don't. I was just curious why you'd choose a boxed copy over DD. Maybe it's just me, but I love not having to deal with boxes for my PC games.2012 looks pretty awesome in fact it's gonna hard keeping up with all the games I want to buy/play
