After watching all 3, I just had to sit back and just shrug my shoulders.

Microsoft: They showed a bunch of games but the major majority was multi platform. The first party lineup is looking very bland as usual. The best "conference" out of the big 3 but was just not exciting.

Nintendo: If you don't like Smash this sucked for most. Fire emblem delayed so it's the same old usual drought nintendo goes through every generation. What is nintendo working on because it was a very weak lineup.

Sony: They should fire whoever thought this show arrangement was a good idea. The pacing was terrible, the whole music entrance to every game got old fast, and Sony just didn't show much. A few of those games looked incredible but again very light from a software standpoint and the show was awful to watch.

Of my 20 years of watching e3 this ranks up there with the worst.

I don't think so. I'd actually say I had a pretty great E3 as far as quantity of interesting games and announcements go. The only real stinkers for me were EA and Nintendo.

Sony's one was really bad, but I enjoyed the Microsoft and Nintendo conferences.

Overall I thought it was a pretty strong E3... especially MS, who had their best conference in years.

There were quite a few worse E3s than this one.

I get most of what you are saying but I dont get the whole 'multiplat' thing.

if a game is good and compelling why would you care that its multiplat?

I'd say it was pretty good. The shows were pretty snoozy but the games were great

I think it was average. I feel that the difference is that we know about most of the games in advance. As social media takes over the world, devs feel more pressure to leak everything early.

Lot of good games were shown but the presentations were just far too cringe overall.

Well so far I think this year’s E3 has been really damn good. Seen tons of awesome games that I’m very much looking forward to playing.

Put TLOU2 footage at the end of Sony’s show and it’d be a different story. What was showed was great, but the need to start in the tent was a poor choice.

Didn’t watch Nintendo’s but not seeing many announcements.

Overall, TC, I agree with you. Even the third parties conferences underwhelmed.

E3 is not what it used to be. Now everybody knows most of the games going in and there are few new game announcements.

There were good games, but I'm not gonna waste my time with E3 conferences anymore. I'm done.

Microsoft = 90% 3rd party trailers, Sony = too little content all around, Nintendo = WE GOT SMASH!

I think everyone is on cruise control with these shows. I really could have been fine with just catching all the recaps and trailers afterward.

MS E3 was very good because they basically had the first opportunity to show a lot of exciting games, even if they were basically all multiplats.

Sony's content was great with the exclusive games and stage demos, but the pacing was awful! There was really no need for a lot of that filler BS.

I haven't seen Ninty yet, but so far from what I heard, it's on par for this year's E3.

I generally set my expectations for E3 lower than others - that way I am not underwhelmed or upset. I was actually pleasantly surprised by some announcements, specifically Nioh 2

Too many leaks prior to e3 kinda took away some of the magic and surprise I'd say.

honestly as an outsider to these events I have to say I think MS moving away from exclusives is a good thing.

If they hyper focus on just making great games, the rest might just wok out for them regardless.

I dont see evidence that they know how to make great games yet but I think moving away from exclusives thinking is a good move

I thought it was an amazing E3. RE2 and DMC5 were great surprises. And Sonys first party titles look amazing.

I disagree,

multiplat or not there were a ton of great games shown. Microsoft had the best conference by far. They set all their negatives straight; improved their service by announcing future streaming services, hinting at next Xbox devices, showcasing their big three (Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 3 and Gears 5 all looked very good), crackdown 3 was weak but it showed up, acquiring 5 new first party studios, improving upon old games and showing up big third party titles.

Sony had Spidey, TLOU2, Ghost and DS. Amazing trailers but boring conf but they got a good line up.

Nintendo had smash and little announcements.

But third party wise: TES VI, Fallout 76, Cyberpunk 2077, Anthem, Metro Exodus, DMC5, Dying Light 2, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, KH3 to name a few.

Thats an amazing line up and all these games look artistically AMAZING. Gaming has come a long way. Here's to hoping for more playable demo footage the coming few days... cheers

You mean the lineup that has Forza Horizon 4? You're not even trying.

I think E3 is so unrepresentative of what gaming as an experience is actually like that it's bound to feel anti-climactic.

The conferences were terrible. Microsoft's was ok, but as stated before it was heavily padded with multiplats. I would have to say I normally lean Sony, but that show was ridiculous.

Beyond Good and Evil looks interesting, and RE2 was good 20 years ago, so it might still be. But when is half this crap coming out. Reminds me of the Shenmue III year when everyone dribbled all over themselves.

Who cares what might happen in 3-4 years, I'm bored now!

I asked the question a few times and it still pops up in my head when I hear the word 'exclusives'

how does a game being an exclusive make it better?

Totally this!

Leaks and early surprises takes away the fun out pre E3 and I wish a lot of game sites make separate sections if you want to see early stuff, please don't put those leaks on the front page, it hurts the surprises.

I think this year's E3 was okay, but no one didn't had that "WOW" factor so I'll just say it's alright. E3 overall a 7/10.

Great games were shown but ZZZ conferences outside of MS because they promised to try to become a gaming company again which was good news.

Other than MS promising to let their new studios have creative freedom and actually fund their AAA projects, the shows could have all just been straight video blitz with no "presentation" at all.

I don't get some of you people, I mean if you saw a game you really want then it has to be a good thing right, right???

I saw Forza Horizon 4 and was like awesome, and the best thing is that with Forza when they do the reveal you know the game is usually only a 4-5 months from release.
