Xbox One sounds like a great deal when I'm out of country and taking my consoles with me. I won't even get to play them!

I think people are, in a sense, blowing it out of proportion. I think it's more akin to steam and needing to be connected to play. Steam does have their offline mode but you can't restart your computer once disconnected or it's useless. Microsoft first and foremost knows they're alienating particular people from purchasing this console. They know that not everyone has a constant internet connection and won't be able to purchase the console because of it. At the same time though, they realize that MANY people do. Many people are connected 24/7 because that's their way of life. Will they lose customers? Probably yes. Why is it that people think MS is unaware of this fact? Why do people believe that a multi-billion dollar corporation is unaware of their potential customer base? They very clearly are. The thing is, their customer base for the Xone is changing from that of the 360, and that's what current 360 gamers don't seem to understand. They are designing a console that is based off online features. The internet is what makes this console, so they want to serve people with internet; that's their market. They know the future of gaming is changing and they want to lead the way. Will their market share be as big as PS4's? At this point it seems like a "no" right? Even so, MS, knowing their customer base, knows their potential for income by making a console with a more specific audience than the 360's. It obviously makes them content so let them do their thing. Ghost_702

Steam is very specfic about saying that you own a non-transferable license. You cannot sell or loan it. And, even if you hack the exe key, once you login to Steam, it will detect your illegal copy.

MS lets you sell games. They just force you to remove them from the HDD before hand. You can loan games to your friends, too (though there are restrictions). It's not as free as PS4, but it's not as limiting as Steam, either.

Valid point. Sure you can't loan off games or rent them or sell them or whatever, but you cannot really do it easily on X1 neither. You can do it, but they haven't made it easy. Maybe it's also overlooiked because of how cheap Steam is for games, with so many sales etc.
