This is from the site.
Video Gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry where over two (2) billion video game titles have been sold. Below, we examine the top twenty five best selling video games of all time including a title that sold over 20 million copies. Some of these games will surprise you. (The sales of games listed below represent independent sales of packaged games, for example packaged with Nintendo Super Mario Bros. sold 40 million copies. This list includes international sales.)
Meaning bundle versions of the games are not included as it is forced sales with the system.GT3 would be alot higher on the list if it including the bundle with PS2,i think with the bundle of GT3 it is actually around 14 million.
Sticking 2 pokemon games together (3 in the first case due to naming conventions) makes sense since they were essentially the same releases and simultaneous (which is why the special 3rd editions aren't mentioned along with them, so it makes sense for yellow to go alone.
However how have the figures for Nintendogs being compiled? Which versions were taken into account? One version was released after the others by a little while, so to also take it into account would not be fair.

Probabley all versions together as it doesn't say a certain version since all version are basicly the same.

Yeah, but as I said earlier it does skew the figures a bit since one version was released a lot later...but then again so are Player's Choice/Platinum versions...hmm...
I love how Lemmings say Halo 3 will be the death of the PS3 and Wii even though Halo 2 only sold 8 million copies.
Wasdie
lmao, only?
That's 1/3 of ALL Xbox owners, and one of the best selling games of ALL TIME.
EDIT: Unless you were being sarcastic... in which case, ignore all of the above.

i love how a system with 120 mill users cant even sell more then 13 mill copies of a game. On a side note pokemon red was the best when it first came out.

What a game sells has nothing to do with what the system sells, the system itself has very little influence on what a game sells.Games do however influence the sales of systems.

Yeah, but it doesnt even come close to what Nintendo and Sony sell.
seriously who the **** made pokemon?!?!?
nintendo must've sought the help of top notch scientists and pyschologists to create the "pokemon" experience.
i don't think there ever has been a craze more widespread than pokemon.
i remember in high schoolall the guyswould trade the cards all day, some of the girls as well. it was crazy as hell. Some kid gave me $50 for a card once
:o That means 2/3 of everybody that owned an NES had SMB.SMB did sell 40 million but was not included because it was bundle with the system so really we wouldn't know what the real sales of the game would be if it was not.

Fair enough. Should be done like that anyway.

No matter Nintendo still dominates the list.
That list seems to be using flawed data.
WoW had 9 milluon concurrent subscribers, not 9 million copies sold. Im sure it sold more than 9 million copies.

remember that in asia the accounts work different. they don't buy the game. they do some sorta deal with the internet cafes. i suppose that's as good of a number as you'll get.

That is very wrong userbase has everything to do with sales, most of the gaming market consists of casuals who buy 1-2 consoles at best in a gen. Most chose PS2 last gen, now comes along the release of Halo 2 on the xbox and it sells 8 million, that is very significant as the userbase barely extends past 24 million. Now games like GT are open to over 100 million people who have the choice of purchasing the game. It is safe to say that if xbox sold 100 million Halo 2 sales would be significantly higher as I personally know atleast 5-7 people who play halo constantly but do not own the game or xbox as they play at my house. All of them are willing to purchase Halo but cant justify the purchase of an xbox back near Halo 2 launch. The xbox 360 however is reaching a wider market than the original leaving room for Halo 3 to be a bigger success, having over a million preordes with less than half the userbase of Halo 2 launch supports that conslusion
