25fps in Crysis is actually very playable. It's much, much more smooth than playing other games at that FPS. It feels like 35-40fps. Since when was 60fps required? Name one console game besides CoD4 that runs at 60fps? UT3 only runs at 30fps on consoles which is a joke!

Oh, and by the way, the PC had the most AAA/AA's last gen, and the most AAA/AA's this gen. You fail!

Danm_999

thats nice...360 owns PC this year

lol, pc completely dominates in AA and is still ahead in AAA

are you counting Mass Effect as AAA already ?? PC is not ahead in AAA

Yeah, it is.

And it's REALLY ahead in AA games.

As for the TC, I find it extremely amusing you have trouble dealing with the fact that your PC cannot run Crysis above 25 FPS and use it as justification for saying the PC is slipping compared to consoles (even though most consoles do not go above 30 FPS and Crysis is not locked at 25 FPS).

Mass Effect isn't included..it is AAA surefire...and notice how all the PC exclusive AAA games are the same genre

That's because Mass Effect isn't out yet genius, there's no such thing as a sure AAA. But hey, Crysis isn't included either, so don't look to the future for protection.

Yes I did notice how PC games were all in the same genre: there's an MMORPG, an RTS, two strategies and an Racer! Zomg, that's only 4 genres. It sure isn't kicking it with the genre diversity!

The 360 has.....3 shooters and a racer. Two genres is just so much better!

Care to explain to me then why I have everything running on Medium and I get 40+ frames? The game looks incredible even on Medium! If I turn it to Very High, that's when I get down to 25FPS, but it's still very playable at those levels. i just prefer knowing that I have those extra frames by setting it to Medium. I have things like Physics, Water Effects, Volumetric Clouding etc etc. all set to high though.

Yes I did notice that, you were trying to frame the time period as it's the only way your argument would work. It was pretty weak and artificial, and it's something fanboys have tried before to no avail (zomg, my console had more AAAs than PC this weak, screw the big picture, it obviously dominates).

I also laughed at the Freudian nature of including Halo 2 instead of Halo 3. Are the two games similar or something.

Bottom line is, Mass Effect is going to have less content than the Burning Crusade, it's also probably going to sell less (BC sold about 2.4 million on it's first day). It doesn't matter either whether no one has heard about a game or not, that detracts from it's quality in no way.

Your really grasping at straws here.

How can hermits even brag?

24 frames per second is all the sudden brag worthy in a FPS?

PC gaming is slipping each gen..now its become very bad...i think it started last fall..

Name one game last fall on PC that topped Gears? yeah....thats what I thought too...WTF is going on? Why is it Hermits find this acceptable? You should be running Crysis at a locked 60 FPS...!

(Dont say we cant tell the difference play COD3 then COD4 and you'll see)

Hikaru-119

stalker may not have been out last fall (or should I say summer that what it is here in nz) but in many ways beats just about every game that's come out since last xmas. what other fps gives you side missons or a huge free roming world. It has some of the best sounding guns to date as well as moving grass and now with new drives and patches runs flawlessley.

crysis on low = same graphics as most console games, hell even farcry looks as good as most console games now. crysis on very high is far superior to anything x360/ps3 will ever see this year or probably ever, and explan halo 3's pathetic resolution. if you ran crysis @ 800x600 on very high you would get way more than 25fps on 8800gt/gts/gtx or maybe even a 7900gtx

I remember they use to.

30fps was low. 60fps should be the standard or something like that circa 2004.

I play Crysis on Very High setting, my fps is 25-30. Hermits are right it is still playable, but not very pleasing. I agree 25fps is not acceptable. I have an BFG 8800 GT OC card. I expect better fps once the retail ver arrives.

I've been playing CS 1.6, Source and many other FPS for years at like 60-100 fps. I've played the demo of Crysis at 25 fps and its MORE than acceptable. You're all just a bunch of big crybabies.

First, you really can't have a PC game locked at 60 FPS because of differing hard ware. Depending on your hardware, you could have well below that. Secondly, seeing as how PC's improve all the time, within monthes Crysis will be playable at FPS's much above that.jeffwulf

Only if you buy a new Videocard for $600 or more!

You must have bought an old computer!

I have an Athlon64 3200, 7800gs rig that I built 3 years ago for 700 bucks. The games im playing recently: Orange box, Witcher, Cod4, Ut3 and I was able to play the crysis demo but I had to set everything to low. It's the only game I needed to do that, but it ran smooth enough, just didnt look too great.

Im not getting a new machine til summertime. That'll be about 4 years

Best card right now is the 8800 GT... which is $250... One is enough to hold up on its end of the bargain for Crysis.

600 - 250 = $350. With that money you can buy a quad core and 2 gigs of memory. Thats everything needed (excluding mobo) for running games. You my friend are very misinformed.

Only more powerful videocards from Nvidia and ATI is going to improve the framerate on Crysis in DX10.

I dont see how "more than acceptable" = "Silky smooth". The game runs perfectly fine, and I can get it up to 50 FPS easily with the right settings. Besides, Theres not even SLI support for the game yet.

[QUOTE="Gnr_Helsing"]I play Crysis on Very High setting, my fps is 25-30. Hermits are right it is still playable, but not very pleasing. I agree 25fps is not acceptable. I have an BFG 8800 GT OC card. I expect better fps once the retail ver arrives.Vandalvideo

I've been playing CS 1.6, Source and many other FPS for years at like 60-100 fps. I've played the demo of Crysis at 25 fps and its MORE than acceptable. You're all just a bunch of big crybabies.

I can see ur a Crysis fanboy, but honestly the game isn't silky smooth at 25 FPS. I'm pretty sure u won't admit.

I dont see how "more than acceptable" = "Silky smooth". The game runs perfectly fine, and I can get it up to 50 FPS easily with the right settings. Besides, Theres not even SLI support for the game yet.

Sure you can run it at 50 fps...AT LOW SETTINGS! Then that would just kill the experience of the game. Don't get me wrong Crysis, from what I see dominants in the graphics department. I'm just curious if the game will be optimized for better performance once release.

It wouldnt be a very smart move to release a game that performs that poorly (and depending on your standards it really isnt that bad) but I dont get it how no one understands that with the proper equipement you can get a good frame rate with high settings. I suppose their just used to having a limit to what their system's are capable of.

i said about this before the demo even came out, people didnt believe me.. well its always the same.

Oblivion was the same, every god damn system hungry game and they all squeeze money out of u.. whats the point of buying this rubbish just to play it at stupid low framerates? im not buying this junk.. ill get SOF payback instead

I actually play at lower resolutions and higher AA to get the better frames. The great thing about PC gaming is, I have a choice, whereas console gamers don't. They have to take what is given to them, be happy or go home. Whereas I can say, "I'd rather do this" or "this key should do this" or "I like texturing more than lighting, so I can sacrifice here" and be the happiest gamer in the world.JocktheMotie
After years of building and tweaking my own gaming PCs, I've found that I no longer WANT this kind of flexibility. I just want to drop the game in, and have it running by the time I get back to the couch. After a long day of work, I don't want to think - I just want to play.

I'm happy for you that there's a platform that provides what you want, but not everyone feels the same way.

You fail!

Not when you spend $1000 on your amazing new PC:|

Crysis on medium settings look better than anything on the consoles.......which doesn't take a very powerful PC to run.........

And that option still very much exists for the PC. Thats the great thinga bout the flexability.

lol I really dont see how pc gaming is dominating. my friends used to all be pc gamers and now no one I know plays pc games anymore. they just dont appeal as much in terms of titles available or coming in the future compared to consoles right now. you can pull out your silly list of AAA's or whatever but there is a huge amount of people out there that dont find many of those titles appealing. You can have all the graphics you want but the titles are what matters. hellgate and the witcher didnt get spectacular scores and were hyped a lot by hermits. Crysis should be a good exclusive but once again, a lot of people have standards when it comes to how they want to run their games.

People dont want to have to upgrade their graphics card after a year because they cant play the game on very high settings anymore. lol everyone is obsessed with graphics these days but you dont see titles like final fantasy and metal gear solid and mario titles on pc's. you see a lot of WOW, ffxi, supreme commander etc titles but it's the "Big 3" that makes the pc. shooters, RTS, and MMo's. it needs more high profile titles to appear to be more popular. I mostly just see a lot of great console games these days and sadly the 360 takes a lot of the thunder away from PC. If games like Bioshock, UT3, and Oblivion were exclusive to PC I would be praising it right now but it's losing some of its big guns and it makes it less unique than it should be.unknowndrk

UT3 isn't even coming out on consoles this year.........have fun playing a game in 08 that I played in 07 (sounds familiar, right lemmings?). The Witcher wasn't that great? It got a 8.5 from GS, and was said to be one of the best RPG's to come out in a long, long time........but no, it isn't that great. What other good WRPG's does the 360 have besides ME? You do realize that Crysis on medium looks better than any console gaming out their, right?

What PC did you get? You could of bought a PC with a MX400 in it a year ago.........

It's like saying, "I bought my Xbox 1 a year ago and it can't even run GeoW!!! What a joke!!! Console gaming is too expensive!!!"..........
