too much shooting in a 3rd person shooter? :?

It's supposed to be a stealth game... but it's still a stupid negative.

I though MGS was always classified as a stealth-action game, usually when they label these things the predominant aspect gets the front billing (action-adventure), so maybe they feel it has gone more action oriented than stealth.

[QUOTE="NoLimitJay1"]If the story wasnt confusing, then it wouldnt be MGS.

The story can be confusing without being presented in a confusing way.
Eh... And the review does not state either way... So I don't see the relevance.
i would regard to much shooting a negative in a mgs game. stealth is the way to go, but a big gunfight is good once in a while livespawnIn fairness atleast part of the game takes place on the battlefield there is going to be people shooting at each other regardless.
Damn! This review did it for me, cancelling MGS4 pre-order right now!
I bought the game so that I could roam around, collecting weapons, but NEVER firing them. That would be ridiculous!! To think, shooting was involved....what a freakin' disappointment.

cant wait!! I hope there are so many twists and turns in the story like in mgs 2. Im currently playing mgs 3 but im not doing to well ecause im always dying constantlyimapieceofwood
Mgs2 was my favorite mgs game. For some reason I just could never get into 3. I lost intrist after I beat "the end"
Those cons are stupid. Story too complex? It's MGS. If you were expecting a simple story, you shouldn't be reviewing this game. Complex bosses? I don't understand. Are the bosses hard to figure out how to beat or just too challenging? Either way, it sounds dumb. And too much shooting? Yes, because we all know in warzones, that limited shooting takes place.
W/e. In fact, this review made me more excited. Very complex story (like MGS2), and complex bosses (like MGS). It just keeps getting better.

They are apparently very hard even once you figure out the trick to beating them. The BatB Unit all of special quirks or gimmicks to beating them, like how you had to change the controller port to the 2nd port to beat Psycho Mantis. Also, even when you figure out how to beat them, there is still the challenge of beating them the proper way, to bring them back to their human selves.

That sounds really fun actually. The controller port thing with Psycho Mantis was so cool lol. I could go for some real challenging bosses.
...oh crap, I still need to beat the last boss in Lost Planet.

You made no sense whatsoever. Just letting you know.Ughh... GS
The story can still be "too complex" and not have points taken off, but the reviewer probally took points off because the story was presented in confusing ways.
oh please gamespot don't take points off because the bosses were too hard and the story were too complex to understand.aka_aj03
They take away points because.. *teh gameplay!! TOO MUCH!! it doesn't match teh genre of this game*
LOL

Just because you don't see it because they didn't spell it out for you doesn't mean it may not be there. It just means they didn't go into detail about it.
Sounds to me like it'll be a perfect 10 in my book.
Too much shooting? Thats something of a way you play the game to begin with and typically the bosses in metal gear solid have required alot of shooting anyway so thats a laugh.
As for the complex story that will actually make metal gear solid fans happy cause MGS3 story wasn't the greatest in the series by fan standards. (this game was made for the fans remember).

The graphics are mediocre at best IMO, the game is good, but miles away from beeing as good as PS3 people hype it to be, and is short comparing to most 360 offering this year
Also the 92% score is like a gift in the name of MGS series, if it was not called MGS4, would get something in 8/10 area i think
Like Halo 3 got far higher than deserved

wow you are really a fan boy it got a 9.2/10 on a site that gave halo 3 a 8.6 and gta4 a 9.6....
and it deserved a better score what comments are to much shooting?
[QUOTE="tmntPunchout"]Reviewer obviously wants more cutscenes.. Pro - cutscenes / Con - too much shooting... Wonder what other games this reviewer likes?Nolan16
Final Fantasy lol...
I think that doesn't have enough cutscenes for them... MGS4 is at least 7/8 hours of scenes rights? Sounds to me like they just want to watch videogames instead of playing them.. ridiculous haha..
