I didnt get the 360 during launch, I got it a year later and had it for about a year, I traded it for a PS3 around X-Mas 2007. With in that year, It got sick (RRoD), I sent it to the ER. When it came back home, it was kool for about 3 month, then it started to go blind (Read disk error) once and a while. When I took it to Gamespot to trade it, I was saying to myself..."I hope it works", It did work.

I didnt like the whole ordeal all together so my question is: what are the people gonna do with launch 360 when the 3 year warranty is up?

So everytime this happends, you're looking at around $80 each time? If I was to get a used one is there any warranty on them?

Microsoft wont really care, they already have your money for the purchase.. the developers wont really care either, they already have your money for the purchases of the games.

I'll be the first to predict it....

MS will offer lifetime warranties on launch 360s for RROD.

You read it here first...it will happen.

Also they're usually in crap condition or they're using the OLD hardware, you know, the stuff that is extremely prone to RROD....

At least the new ones have made HUGE strides in fixing the problem. Buy a new one STAT.

My understanding is they've got a 1 yr warranty on the new ones although you may want to check with MS or one of their sites or something.

They will have to do something, its only 7 month away, after that systems will be out of warranty day after day......not just the launch systems.

Well, most normal people, which doesn't seem to include PS3 fanboys and wii fanboys, will probably not even be thinking about it. Beyond a few sad posters on this forum, I really don't see anyone biting their nails over it. I suppose most will probably do what they do when any other product warranty runs out: Pay for repairs, if they need to. I just spent $900 putting a transmission in my 2004 corolla. I did have it for 4 years/138,000 miles.

Oh, nevermind. Sorry. You were probably expecting everyone to admit regret over purchasing one of the greatest next-gen game consoles...

You tryin to take a cheap shot at me!!!??? Go back and point out any of my statement where it even sound like I'm gettin to that.

What are you doing putting almost 35,000 miles a year on your car? That is what I want to know.

Yes I also want to know..Even with me I only manage to put 9000 a yr. and trust me i drive ALOT!

Anyways I am pretty sure MS has thought of this before they implemented the 3yr policy. Im thinking its probably because they will announce a new RROD free SKU after the 3 yr policy is up.

I drive 30 miles to work and 30 miles back monday through friday, and as a 19 year old college student I do a lot of other driving and I put 15000 miles a year on my car, i don't believe anyone does 35k a year unless your job involves driving constantly
