It isn't hard to see that FF13 isn't coming out in 2008. Maybe in Japan, butdefinetly not in the US. Sure wee all would love to see the game in 2008, but there just haven't been any indicators that would suggest the game would be finished by then. Don't trust me, read up on the gaming press and listen to their forecast. All indicators are 2009 at best.

Not satified? Look at a game Like MGS4. That game looks like it is coming in late 2008. Certain aspects look finished, a PSN demo is already in the works. We know the game is far along because we have seen the live demos, the game play, etc... The game seems to be in it's last phase of development which for a AAA next gen title, 8-12 months seems to be achievable. There have been no indicators that FF13 is nearly as far along. Giving the length of an Final Fantasy RPG's develpoment time, that should be no surprise. FF13 is still far,far away.
