360 controller has better.

Triggers

Analog

Analog layout

Better buttons

More sturdy

Better option for charging has charging stand with recharge battery or you can use AA so no need to ever wait for playing.

PS3 controller has better D-Pad that is really it everything else is inferior to the 360 controller.

i find the ps3 has better buttons. also, the charging system on the ps3 is much more straightforward - you just have to conntect the usb cable to the console

Never liked the 360's pad. I've used it a lot, and just feels awkward for me.

I have small hands though, so the DS is absolutely fine for me. In fact, the only issue I have with it, is the Triggers. They were fine as they were.

The ps3 controller is actually a perfect fit on my hands, unlike the 360 controller. Don't forget about looks too.

Well, imo i think the ps3 controller is better for everthing even shooters.. Iam used to the controller more...

Pimp_Dog09

Shooters NO WAY if you could hook a 360 controller to a PS3 and play online COD4 on PSN your kill count will increase way more over other PS3 controller users. Just no it is no way better in shooters then the 360 controller not even close to a discussion. Now maybe you are used to it but after you play with the 360 controller I promise you your shooter kill count will go up for sure.

Is that why i do better when i play COD4 on my ps3 and do worse when i play on my bros 360? hmmmm.

PS3 controler doesnt take BATTERIES! And is so much lighter.

I prefer the 360 controller too. It fits my hands better and I like the stick layout more. But it's not by a long shot, the PS controller is fine.

I prefer the PS3 controller, thats my OPINION and finding that the 360 controller is better is YOUR opinion. You can continue saying that the buttons are better on the 360, but someone who likes the PS3 controller will say the buttons are better on the DS3. It all comes down to personal preference. Every gamer, developer, reviewer, blogger has a personal preference and when they say they prefer something its just their personal preference.

The only things I like better on the PS3 are the d-pad and the tops of the analog sticks. Otherwise the 360 controller is way better in terms of the buttons, triggers, analog sticks in general, and the shape of the controller.

Matter of preference. Don't make threads like this please, this is what starts flame wars. I like the ps3 controller because I played the ps1 and ps2 so the ps3 controller feels good for me. All preference

It comes down to what you prefer... the button placement, feel of triggers, analog placement, concave or non-concave sticks, and the overall size.

Both are good.

Though the analouge sticks on the ps3 are better.

Becuase the sticks are longer you get more accuracy out of them which is good for shooters and racing games. Plus it has a lesser dead zone.

But the triggers are better ont eh 360, though you can buy a trigger add on for the ps3 which is great.

Both are fine imo... cant really choose between them...

360 Controller

Pros: MUCH more durable than the DS3 (triggers especially)

Cons: Hurt your finger holding the narrow trigger down for long periods of time (Racing games), Joysticks are at different level...I am not a cripple so therefore I don't need them in different spots, The d-pad makes it hard to always push in the right direction

DS3 Controller

Pros:Joysticks in same position.

Cons: REALLY cheaply made compared to the 360s,triggers are low quality and are too easy to accidentally push, Again, joysticks lose their center of motion andcan become limp and off center.

Overall 360 > DS3 (no bias, up your quality on your controllersSony)

I tried asking which console you liked best ages ago and it took god knows how long to get it out of you :P

Im not suprised actually the controller is brilliant but unfortunately many games dont use it well. Galaxy did though and Im hoping the Modern Warefare wii version coming out will use it well.

Don't get me wrong the PS3 controller is basically the same as the Duel Shock that came out mid life span of PS1 and all of PS2. And was voted good for it's time.

But now in comparison all but for fighting games because of the D-pad In general the PS3 controller is OWNED hard by the 360 controller. Pretty much all games feel better when playing on the 360 controller. The 360 analog sticks have a far better layout and the sensitivity and firmness of them are far better then the loose flimsy feeling PS3 analog sticks. And matter of fact not to be picky but it is true the 360 controller just feels better in your hand and more sturdy.

I mean I think just about all game mags voted 360 controller best also.

Bare in mind this is how I feel I'm sure some may feel different but I think most agree I'm speaking truth on this.

Yeah, I remember that  I don't actually own a Wii although I am considering one for SMG and the Virtual console.

Agree. ps3 sticks are too loose for my taste and in general I feelthat the pad is kinda small.. much better feeling with the 360's pad

I don't really care for either. Last gen's controllers were way better. GC and DS2 ftw.

I like the 360 controler better, especially for shooters. The location of the left stick is in a better ergonomic position than the dualshock. My daughter has a harder time with the dualshock because of her smaller hands.

They're both the same to me.

I find the analog stick layout for the Dualshock perfectly fine, and it has the best dpad ever, and is easier to recharge.

I had trouble playing Gears of War with the 360 controller, so I prefer DS3. It's better than Sixaxis though, because you get vibration function.
