Ps3 and Nintendo lack something 360 has. Pc-console games. But lately it seems as if microsoft has been relying a little to heavily on these cross platform games. While it makes sense to own a pc and something like a wii or ps3 It doesn't apper like a good investment to go PC-360 due to the many games made better on pc. For the past 2 years 360 has been lacking in the true exclusive departmentOrigami_Kill3r
why is that a bad thing, if you're a pc/360 owner, you have more options. do people only play exclusives?

The 360 can get some interesting titles when it is not difficult to dev for. It gives a non-uber rich dev the chance to easily expand their wallet sizes.

well see not everybody wants to buy a PC thatll be out of date ina few years and even more people have the knowhow to maintain it, no matter how easy it is. for those people theres the xbox 360. just becauase it comes to the xbox doesnt mean the system is a struggle which im sure you probably SHOULD understand since the PC/360 multiplats 99% of the time sell better on the xbox. why in Gods name would you even entertain such a thought? the one thing that the 360 does lack is first party support and they need to do something about that and soon, thats definatly one thing sony and nintendo has over MS.

Are you kidding me? Microsoft controls both so whats the point?

no they dont.

They don't cotnrol PC gaming directly, but they do in-directly. Let me know once you've managed to play Crysis and Dragon Age on Linux, and I will happily uninstall Vista from my PC.

I don't think PS3 is in the position to criticise...

What would PS3 look like if Sony didn't go on a exclusive buying/developing spree?

No God of War, no Killzone, no Uncharted...

AnnoyedDragon

??? LOL Sony didn't buy any of those, where are you getting your info from a Lemming?

God of War 3, published by Sony Computer Entertainment and developed by Sony's Santa Monica Studio.

Killzone 2, published by Sony and developed by Guerrilla Games; who are owned by Sony.

Uncharted 2, published by Sony and developed by Naughty Dog, who are owned by Sony.

All three games are created and distributed by Sony.

OK dude what the hell are you even talking about? 1st off Santa Monica, Guerilla, Naughty Dog are 1st party devs. You say one thing then say the opposite. You say Sony bought exclusives and if they didn't we wouldn't have GOW3, etc..., you list them. Now you say Sony created them and there theirs. LOL. What is it? If your going to list Exclusive Developmentthen edit your post. Because as far as I can remember Sony hasn't bought any exclusives.

Sony went and bought up several studios and they published/developed a bunch of 1st party games to save the PS3 from drowning in its own filth, what's not to get?

Interesting theory.... However it's meaningless in reality, the 360 does indeed have 360/PC games and they are some of the best games out there :D

I see a lot of people trying to get technical but fact is that the vast majority of gaming pc's use some form of windows. Not many big time gamers are running out and buying Macs (althought that might change with steam)

so Ms is getting paid with every gaming PC bought.

Microsoft doesn't own the PC.

They don't own the PC, they own the PC industry i.e. The US law has labelled Microsoft as a monopoly.

well basically MS control everything on the xbox and get money from games sales. they dictate the online system..the way games are sold in both retail and throught live, what games can be made for the 360 and so on. devs and publishers have to pay MS to develop for the 360 also. this is standard console practice amongst MS, sony and ninty. however on windows...MS only control what happens to windows itself (patches and and so on). they cant control content, anyone can develop windows apps without paying MS a dime (except for the actual windows licence), business can do business in a way that suits them and MS see nothing from PC game sales unless the game is published by MS. so MS dont control both...they just control the 360.

Monopoly says Hi

lol, this thread is why cows are the most hated faction. MS is just doing this gen what sony did in previous ones. Sony bought/paid for may exclusives, and outright bought studios. Why is MS being bashed for using the same strategy to compete? wouldnt you also bash them if they DIDNT have games on the platform? And to TC, MS doesnt control what 3rd party devs do. Most choose to port only to 360 because its an "easy" port than it would be to PS3. That way they can tap the console market. Dont criticize MS for planning it this way, instead, wonder why sony took the route they did. Why must all sony's bad decisions be blamed on others?

[QUOTE="Origami_Kill3r"][QUOTE="osan0"]fable 2 and soon 3 halo 3, ODST and soon reach forza games lost odyssey thats just off the top of my head..im sure there are more. alan wake if there was a situation where i could only have a PC and 2 consoles then it would be a PS3 and wii for me. but the 360 is still worth owning.... gears of war 2.... and has many crackin games only on the console. however MS do have a serious first party problem and if there not very careful....its going to bite them on the backside. with multiplat becomign the norm...its going to be up to first party devs to set the consoles apart and attract the customers.

A small list composed mostly of shooters = 360s exclusives

fable 2 and 3 rpg. Halo 3, odst, reach, gears- fps Forza racing Lost odd RPG Alan wake-adventure TPS... mostly fps? okay...

so you are asking if the x360 can survive with half of its exclusives (compared to the PS3)gone. I say : NO, but it's a stupid thing to assume , it's like assuming if the PS3 can survive without the multiplatform games.

Know what I don't get about SW? You guys (mostly cows) act as if multiplats aren't games and the only games worth playing are exclusives. That's not the case bud. BTW, there's a lot of great 360 exclusives that arent on the PC. GeOW 2 Halo 3 Halo Wars Halo ODST Forza 2 Forza 3 Viva Piniata Project Gotham Racing 4 And coming soon: Fable III Halo Reach Alan Wake Yes, your right bud, the 360 has no exclusives. :| BTW, correct me if I'm wrong, but the PS3 isn't exactly in the best position to critisize is it?

Since Holiday of last year, the 360 has more AAA games than the PS3. Whether it has an "e" at the end or not is irrelevant. If you look at the amount of quality titles released, it's superior. Besides, the highest rated 360 AAAe is actually Forza, a racing game. So much for the shooter myth.

Except Microsoft is using their IPs (Halo, Fable, Crackdown, Forza, etc) to sell more Xbox 360's and I'm sure that Lionhead doesn't even want to port it over. Look at it realistically.

I doubt it, remember Lionhead Studios is owned by Microsoft now.

It's quite sad really, it killed the Black and White series. If you look at their game list; you can see the shift in their development after Microsoft bought them.

Lionhead has released every game they have ever made on PC right up to when Microsoft bought them, I don't think it is a matter of what they want to do.

Microsoft didn't own them back then, so they were actually in a position to release their games on any platform they wanted.

Since Microsoft has bought them they have produced nothing but 360 games, so I think saying what Lionhead or "Microsoft Game Studios Europe" does and does not want to do while under Microsoft authority is rather redundant.

Their pre-Microsoft acquisition history more than says they were primarily a PC/Mac developer.

[QUOTE="carlisledavid79"]The 360 is doing just fine with the fantastic library of games it all ready has.Origami_Kill3r
So is ps2 but there comes a time when you want something new

You make it sound like the multiplats sell more on the PC than on X-box 360. That's not the case though so I think Microsoft isn't relying heavily on PC-Xbox 360 games at all.

[QUOTE="Anjunaddict"]Fable went to PC tooAnnoyedDragon

Yeah, but MS still published the game on the PC. And there were other games that MS was in complete control of that made their way to the PC too, such as Halo and Viva Pinata. MS have obviously changed their strategy since though, they seem to be focusing on the 360 now.

[QUOTE="Origami_Kill3r"]Ps3 and Nintendo lack something 360 has. Pc-console games. But lately it seems as if microsoft has been relying a little to heavily on these cross platform games. While it makes sense to own a pc and something like a wii or ps3 It doesn't apper like a good investment to go PC-360 due to the many games made better on pc. For the past 2 years 360 has been lacking in the true exclusive departmentmythrol

Doesn't matter fanboys will use any ammunition they can against the 360.. L4D 1 & 2 sold about 4 million copies combined (according to NPD), yet the game "shouldn't count" because it's on the PC as well.

Knowing typical SW console gamers; they would use these changes to claim that Microsoft has lost faith in PC, never mind the the royalty differences between 360 and PC. The most likely cause is increased competition from Sony, the first year of this gen Microsoft had no competition in the next gen market, then when PS3 released it offered poor competition. Only when Sony started pumping cash into exclusives this gen that Microsoft became far more protective of keeping games exclusive.

I agree. The 360 couldn't survive without it's game library.

[QUOTE="The-Mosher"][QUOTE="badtaker"][QUOTE="Arach666"] Untrue.

Still PC gamers cry for Halo, Fable and Alan Wake.

I have yet to see a PC Gamer wanting those games.

you should visit PC games forums then. there are many threads in PC forums like (when halo 3 releasing for PC,why Fable 2 not for PC..........................)

Those threads exist, but the ones involving Halo 3 get very few posts(most of them)and those who post there generally say they don´t care about it.

The situation is somewhat similar with Fable 2.

Alan Wake is the only one some PC gamers wanted(me included),but still far from being unanymous.

Xbox 360 and PC only games are few in number actually in terms of the overall picture.
