Surely Sony's announcement for the PS3 slim at $299 did bother MS in such a way that just a few days later price-cuts were announced/confirmed.. This just shows that Price is a deciding factor to the majority of gamers (consumers)...
So now Sony has its console at $299 which is an amazing deal, specially when viewed as a 'whole package'..
We have MS with 2 SKU's sold at $199 & $299... Pro is at a good price but only for clearing purposes.. (still good deal for those picking it up)
Finally we have Nintendo, which I think will stay watching for a couple of months (lets say till mid november) see how their consoles compares to competition in terms of weekly/monthly sales and then decide whether or not a price-cut is needed for the holiday season.. Surely though i think its quite safe to assume Nintendo will announce a price-cut for the Wii this year.. $179 - $199 looks like a fair price for a Wii considering its hardware

is it confirmed though that the Elite at the new price-tag will come with HD cables & headset ?? I read the HD cables wont be included anymore..

Those are bad examples of how blu-ray is needed. If something is needed/required you wouldn't be able to play those games with-out what is needed, in this case a blu-ray disk, but thats not the case, all of those games are avaliable on the 360.

dont forget that u have to pay every year for live and HD cabels and headseat u buy it once and i paid for my headseat $20 and HD cabels$10

For the same reason why people keep forgetting the additional price of an HDMI cable for the PS3 and the additional money people will spend on bluray movies over DVD movies or are you going to taut Bluray as an additional feature and tell me people wouldn't want the best picture quality or buy the Bluray version of the movie?
u can find HDMI cabels for $10 or less dose Elite include HDMI cabels (i really dont know) why the hell do u talk about bluray movies
in a few months time it will be $300 vs $300 as it says while stock lasts. ms is just clearing out the pro models. once the pro is gone why would you get a elite when you can have a ps3 with more features for the same price?

Next gen, disc drives wont even be used... Hell, Xbox Live is already starting digital distribution with its on demand games
have fun downloading 30+ gb games with internet caps...
by next gen 30gb flash memory sticks will be dirt cheap. optical media needs to die and fast. it's great for movies and music but just doesn't cut it for stream large amounts of data when the stuff is all over the disk.
for 50 dollar more i get wifi, bluray and free internet and better games and not to mention no RRODS
i pass call me when it costs 100 dollar

And then you have to spend at LEAST $50 MORE for component cables and a bluetooth headset or if you don't care for online you don't need to spend more than $5 for a hdmi cable.
