The only first party 360 game i want is halo 3 i'm not sure if microsoft publishes lost odyssey. If mass effect  and bioshock were coming out on ps3 i'd probably reconsider getting getting a 360 halo 3 wouldnt be enough. Right now i have enough for a 360 but nothing at all interests me.

NGS is awesome. i played the demo and im pretty sure it will be a AAA game. They added few extra things in that wasnt in NG/NGS and controls are basically the same as the xbox/360 version.

Lair looks like crap to me. dont know why cows hype that game. Graphics are good, but looking at gameplay it looks average and tedious after a while. I think it will be a low AA or High A game. Story might be the only thing good worth checking out from what it looks like.

I was excited about uncharted when i saw the trailers last year at e3. After seeing some gameplay clips it looks like a high AA at the most. I dont understand why certain fanatics praise the graphics on this game. Honestly i dont see it. Who knows it can be the next big game.

I'm skeptical about warhawk from only looking at gameplay clips of course. i heard mix reviews. I wanted to sign up for beta but i ended up registering late.

The new Socom game looks interesting though. I really enjoyed playing socom 1 and 2. i even had fun with the single player but the online was where it was at. I can see Socom a AA game or a low AAA even its only multiplayer. Game will be enjoyable if majority of the ps3 players have a mic and able to communicate to play as a team IMO. Resistance multiplayer was decent online (nothing new really), but the most turn off in that game was the lack of teamwork and things certain ppl did in the game took the fun out of it.

Game i can see getting AAA is Heavenly Sword. They took things from GOW to make a "epic" game. The gameplay from what i seen seems enjoyable. This is the only game i can see really getting a AAA compare to the other ps3 exclusive games.

Im really skeptical about killzone 2. I dont think it will do that well, but sony invested a lot of money on this game. So we shall wait and see.

Ratchet and Clank are popular games that are high AA and low AAA game. I was never into platform games, but it seems this series did well for Sony.

Ico was a good game but it was really short. From what i remembered a lot of ppl complained about Ico on being short and its replay value when it came out. The gameplay was original and fun to play. Same goes with SoTC and it was a good game as well. It seemed SoTC got the praise it deserved to get that Ico lacked getting. Hopefully if the same developers work on a ps3 game i am sure it will be a good original high rated game like its predecessors.

the way i see it is each console has certain games that will attract certain gamers. Last Gen xbox and GC had games that ps2 didnt satisfy my needs and vice versa. Honestly i couldnt stand the FPS games the sony had to offer and the online play was lacking. While Xbox didnt have certain japanese games that i enjoyed and had to find it in the other 2 consoles.

but really, I understand it's your personal preference, but when it comes to the majority of people the 360 has currently the highest rated, highest selling, most enjoyed and most anticipated games.

But who knows, that could change. But I haven't heard many people say, "The 360 doesn't have anything good yet, nor does it have anything good coming out lately." It's usually the other way around, but hey it's your opinion.

WOW talk about apples and oranges. Umm me personally i dont much care for racers so i could care less for either Forza or motorstorm. I mean seriously, you have to admit that 360 has no variety.  I mean look at PS3, it will have everything from your pixar like kid games like ratchet to your most hardcore action titles such as Killzone and Socom, hell even a virtual reality type card game with eye of judgement. I mean all 360 has going for it is shooters and racers, admit it 

Halo 3, Mass Effect, Losty Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Virtua Fighter 5, Bioshock, GTA IV, Banjo-Kazooie 3, PGR 4, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Alan Wake, Rock Band, Kane and Lynch, UT 3, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed... Those are some of the games on their way, and there is plenty of variety there. It's not all shooters.

Yea I love Gears, im just saying that it is your typical cliche type shooter game with not that much substance, its hella fun to play I admit. Im just saying the overall experience for PS3 games is more epic and movie like. I mean playing God of war 2 just has that cinematic/movie feel to it, same goes for ico and sotc. thats a nice summation of upcoming PS3 games - and i agree with most of what you've said.

ninja gaiden has a real good chance at AAA - and the rest i'm really not so sure about

like you said - the PS3 does have an upcoming lineup that will cater to the PS fans out there. but i feel the fans will have to wait until 08 to really get a good does of what the PS3 has to offer, for the 07 lineup is a bit lacking. i just feel that, for 07 at least, the wii and 360 have stronger lineups. but things could change quickly when the PS3 brings out its big guns (MGS, FF) in 08.

Sony has made some great IPs. Were last gen Micrisoft made Halo and Fable and well that was about it.

Sony was definantly strong last gen and Microsoft only made 2 legit games in Halo(great oh by the way) and Fable(it was good). This gen however the gap between the 3 has gotten alot closer.

Also 3rd party games own the 1st party/2nd party games of all the big 3.

However when I play sony's games I feel like im watching a movie like Face/Off a movie with amazing action AND SUBSTANCE with an amazing story.

bummer! My friend Stephen is the assistant manager soon to be manager so Im really stoaked on that, I'm gonna wait til school gets out and I get back from cabo to turn in my application. I'm really excited about it. 

Owning both consoles ever since the PS2/Xbox days and now I own both the PS3 and 360 ive came to the conclusion that Sony's games are just overall made better. For example.. While Gears and halo are great games the overall story feels like a low budget action movie. While Games such as God of war 2 feel like a truely epic high budget movie along with Ratchet and clank which feels like your right in a animated movie and so far Uncharted, Heavenly Sword and Lair look More like high budget movies. I guess since sony has a big part in the movie industry they bring some of that talent into gaming as well. 

Again I think both Gears and halo are great games but when I play them I feel like im playing a video game but when I play games such as God of war 2, ico/shadow of the collosus and Ratchet and clank, they have more of a cinematic edgy feel to them. Anyone else notice this? You have to admit that while Halo and Gears are amazing titles they are just your typical cliche action/shooter games. My money is on all 3 finishing the race.

I don't believe that their will be a huge difference in sales come the next gen maybe 30-40-50 million split any way.

Sony is in the biggest bother though not MS. The main blockbusters in my town centre had most of its PS3 Games section emptied and I was like "OH PS3 games must be selling well" they said they were not getting any more stock in and if I was interested would be droppin the PS3 console price by £40 in a fortnight.

I was quite surprised that BB was giving up so early I suppose they have limited space and the Wii only had a tiny wee area before so i guess that or 360 will take the PS3's place.

Its only 1 shop in my small town but I see similar everywhere. A Big Woolies chain near me has moved the PS3 games from their shelves to a box table near the door. It gets interest but I think its not coz they wanna help sales but get rid of stock. The Wii, PC and 360 are still in the Gaming shelve area.

PS3 is in a weee bit of trouble I think the Wii really surprised Sony and maybe stole 2 million sales from PS3 just a guessed estimate.

Why do I see both Heavenly Sword and Lair on that list? They are developed by Ninja Theory and Factor 5 respectively. I believe yourself and the topic creator fail to differentiate between publisher and developer.

It's funny when lemmings think they are owning cows when they are really owning themselves. The topic is $ony is better @ making games than M$... and he's right, cite all of the third party titles you want but as far as first party goes $ony owns M$ in ways I'm not allowed to describe on GS forums. Granted, now after quite some time since launch of XB360 there is some decent software on the system but rag on the PS3 all you like, what awsome games were you playing this far into the 360's lifecycle? Better yet, name some IP's for any M$ console that werent purchased by M$ halfway through development stages? Both Sony and Microsoft rely heavily on third-parties, only Nintendo could be completely autonomous and survive.

Actually I'd say most of Sony and Microsoft's best stuff comes from their in house studios and subsidiary divisions, rather them themselves directly.

On the one hand then you've got Gran Turismo, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Jak and Daxter, God of War and SOCOM.

On the other you've got Halo, Age of Empires, Fable, everything from Rare, Too Human and Shadowrun.

I'd say that's pretty even.

you obviously prefer more fantasy games, whereas most westerners prefer balls out manly shooting,

however I am guessing that the western titles have gameplay

No never.  The PS3 isn't getting any games that I want to play except for Socom & I'm not buying a console just for one game.  One of my reasons of going from the PS2 to the Xbox 360 was the fact everyone stated Microsoft would release gobs of shooters, I could easily own 10 tactical shooters right now if they were released.  However, I've yet to see this happen.

WOW talk about apples and oranges. Umm me personally i dont much care for racers so i could care less for either Forza or motorstorm. I mean seriously, you have to admit that 360 has no variety.  I mean look at PS3, it will have everything from your pixar like kid games like ratchet to your most hardcore action titles such as Killzone and Socom, hell even a virtual reality type card game with eye of judgement. I mean all 360 has going for it is shooters and racers, admit it

You seem to think Sony makes games... they don't.  None of the Hardware manufacturers do.  They HIRE talent to develop for them.  You just preffer the stable of artists that Sony has paid to develop games for them.  All of the games you mention were made by talented people, and they all deserve our admiration regardless of who pays their salaries or which hardware their software runs on. 

I feel like so much of console loyalty is misplaced love for the developers who design the actual games.  Your assertion that Microsoft has shallow games is 100% subjective.

No, no they're not. If not equal I'd give the edge to MS. Sony milks creations that are good by continuously creating re-hashes that again, turn out good, but become less and less original with each passing game. Hence why Crash and Spyro go ditched after PSone and how Jak got ditched after PS2. Once they make something good, they just keep the sequels coming so all of their games look good.

There's a fair share of bad involved in Sony's creations too. Primal is a good example of an idea that didn't turn, say, God of War-ish and hence there are no sequels. MS tries more different things than Sony. They don't just find something good and keep punching out sequels every single year. Fable is a good example of that, and I doubt we'll see a Gears of War sequel till 2009. Also, it's not like we see another Halo every year, those games a spread apart nicely as well.

Just an opinion, though I will admit Sony is doing an admirable job trying to create something new on the PS3. Resistance, Motorstorm, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, all new game concepts. Unfortunately, neither Resistance (poor graphics, bland Halo rip-off) nor Motorstorm (no split-screen for an arcade racer, shoddy online) have done anything to prove this is a good thing.
