agreed, price is not a factor..the more expensive PS3 is currently selling more than the cheaper 360 and theres no way the 360 can even match the sales of the wii, maybe if it was half the price of the wii

3. Gimmick Free. The classic console, controllers and box, dvd drive and all. There is nothing wrong with innovation, but leave that to developers, and let them innovate gameplay.

4. The best graphics, soon at the cheapest price. The 50 dollar price drop should bring the core below the price of the wii, and while I would go for a pro personally, you can still put GTAIV, Halo or gears into a core and play it just fine.

5. Variety. Its funny how things change. Last gen xbox was criticized for having the least variety, this gen it has unarguably the most. Wii is party games, PS3 is third person adventures. Sure PS3 has some promising shooters and RPGS on the horizon, but haze was a promising shooter at one point.

You gave some valid reasons but 2, 3 and 5 don't qualify.

Just because your friends don't have PS3's doesn't mean that tons of PS3 owners out there don't have friends with PS3's.

I'm gonna knock down #3 just because PS3 falls in the same catogory, more or less. You're also confusing gimmicks and real innovation. You cannot call the Wii (I'm assuming you mean the Wii) gimmicky as a whole console. Yes, there are games that make the controls seem gimmicky but there are others that make it seem very innovative and a step forward in the videogame industry.

Variety? Ok I'll take the shot you took at PS3. But the Wii is one of the most varied console. There top games include: 3D platformer, FPS, action-adventure, adventure, racing, puzzles, and then of course there're the party games. Most of which by the way are exclusive titles and at range from AAE to AAAE.

But overall this thread fails at trying to claim the Xbox won this gen. For every valid reason you give me about why the Xbox is so great, I can give you 2 as to why it's not going to win anything.

Is it adventure games? Uncharted. Is it shooters? SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs, Resistance 2, Killzone 2. Is it creative new IPs? LittleBigPlanet. Is it RPGs? FF 13, White Knight Story.

So love it hate it, those are the facts.

As much as I disagree with TC prematurely declaring 360 the generation winner (just as I disagree with sonyfans prematurely declaring 360 beaten by PS3), to be fair, that first point is about NEW IP's, not sequels to series that have been around (in some cases) since the rebirth of gaming in '84.
